The "Apelle Club," a musical ergani
zatien of our city singers, met Friday
evening at the Louse of their fellow mem-,
ber, II. C. Mellingcr, East Strawberry
street, te entertain some vifeiting singers
from Philadclphi?. A large number of
invited guests were present and
the music wn3 excellent, the quar
tettes of tl'O club Mid the tener
foIes of Mcsprr.. Dracbbar, Schleucb,
Wilsen and Zimmerman being especially
fine, whilj the "Old Sexten," by thobest,
was one of the best. Pief. Haas presided
at the ersan. The evening was a very
pleasant one and the visitors left with a
high, opinion of our vocalists and Lancas
ter's hospitality.
