An Old Keare'8 Agatiutt a Jersey a. unnnatien was created in the Mercer county court, at Trenten, New Jersey, en Friday, by the statement of a prison er arraigned for illegal voting at the March election, that he had been indneed te com mit the offense by County Collector Van kirk, who iB a .Democrat. The prisoner was Henry Moere, an aged jrUoner, who has lain in jail sinee the week following the township election of March last. He was arrested en the charge of having vne& in Prinoalen townihie after be had already voted in West Windser. When arraigned this morning by Prosecutor Beasley the old man pleaded guilty. Lawyer Dennis, his counsel, asked the court te hear the prisoner's statement before sentence was pronounced. Consent being given, Moere steed up and said : "I am an old man, ignorant of the law, and I was influenced te de this thing by Captain Vankirk. I've worked for him and knew he was a big man in the county and didn't think he'd tell me .te de any thing wrong. He came te my place and advised me, saying I could vote in both places and he would give me five dollars te pay my way back and forth. 1 couldn't walk, se I rode and was kindly received at William West's, in West Windser, the night before election. I stepped all night and next day I told them at the polls that I lived in Princeton. JNe one cnauengca me. William West then gave me two dollars and fifty cents, and I was sent home te Princeton. I hope the court will have mercy en an ignorant old man like me." The court said that there seemed te be extenuating circumstances, although every one knowing enough te vote ought also te knew that it is wrong te vote twice Moere was sentenced te three months in jail, te run from date of commitment. Bitter Political Vlgbt In Fayette County. Friday closed one of the bitterest prim ary campaigns ever conducted in Fayette county. The contests are for president judge, sheriff and district attorney, but the judicial fight absorbs everything else. Messrs. William H. Playford and Themas 8. Searight are the aspirants and the old faotienal fight is renewed with great energy. Of the nearly forty lawyers at this bar two or three are for Searight, about a dozen for Playford and the rest are taking no part, but are awaiting de velopments. Many Democrats are op posed te both Searight and Playford and will either net vote Saturday or else they will try te carry the county for Searight in the belief that he can never be elected, but that a Greene county man will be taken up and thus both Playford and Sea right kept off the bench. Fer sheriff the candidates are G. W. Litman, of Union town ; C. Sterling, of Masontewu, and Edward Dean, J. M. Merrow and S It. Leng, of Cennellsville. D. M. Hcrtzeg, M. M. Cochran, A. E. Downs and L. II. Frasher are competing for the district at terneyship, with the Scut between Hcrt Hcrt eog and Cochran. Hew Much Will De Jr. Hew much of Themas'' Eclectric Oil ih re quired te cure ?
