SONGS.
"AFTER SORROW'S WIGHT."
.Alter sorrow's night
Dawned the morning bright ;
In dewy woerta I beard
A golden-throated blnl,
And "Leve, love, love," it sung,
And " Leve, love, Jove."
Evening shadows fell
In our happy dell ;
Frem glimmering weeds I heard
, A k'Ol den-throated bird.
And "Leve, love, love," It sang,
And " Leve, love, love."
Oh, t tie summer night
Starry was and bright ,
In the dark weeds 1 heard
A goldcn-lbreatcd bird.
And "Leve, love, love," it sang,
And "Leve, love, love."
"THE WO0D3 TUAT r.KINO TnE SUNSET HEAR.'
The wind Irem out the West is blowing,
The homeward-wandering cows are lowing ;
Iark grew the pine-weeds, dark and drear,
The woeils that bring the sunset near.
When o'er wide seas the sun decline:-),
Far off its lading glory fchlnes ;' .
Far off, sublime, and lull el lear, -The
pine weeds bring the sunset near.
1 his house that leeks te east, te west.
This, dear one. Is our home, our rest ;
Yonder the stormy sea. and here
The weeds that bring the sunset near.
