Threatened Danger.
A voting lady yet iu her teens called
upon Mma. Modjeska yesterday at tlio

of the Chlapowpki family (the family of
Mmc. Modjeska's husband). Mme. Mod
jeska received her and found this state
ment to be untrue. The gill admitted
that it was only a subterfuge to procure
an audience, but at the same time admit
ted that she had something important to

missed her attendants and listened to the
young girl's story. Sho said that she knew

to execute it, and that being herself
heart and soul .in the movement, and hav
ing no one to regret her death, sho had
come to offer her services and savo Mod
jeska's husband. With great tact and
delicacy Mme. Modjeska talked to the
girl, and at last sent her away fully con
vinced that Russian freedom was not suf
fering on account of her inaction. Count
Bozenta is stopping with his wife at the
Clarendon.
