The commonwealth proved by expert testimony that the charred matter found in the burned building was of an animal character and that the blood on the defendant's clothes was tho blood of either an animal or a human being. It is on this point that the caso rest?, and on account of which so much interest is manifested in the trial. The defense in closing endeavored to impress upon the jury that the wifo was still alive, that her remaius had not been found and that a convictiou could not therefore be estab lished.
