It is square, thrco stories with mansard,
and strikes the observer an solid, plain,
and free from all "giuicracks" or faucy
work. The entrance is in ,a spacious
hall, that will be divided into, three parts
by pillars and partisres, the. last part hav-j
ing an open flrcplace. On the left, which isc
the south side, are tbe two parlors and Ii-i
brary that can bo thrown into one, and is
to be finished iu mahogany The reception
and dining rooms are on the other fide of
the house. The windows are a surprise,
and there are so many, and they
are of the heaviest French plate glass,
thick as the finger aud beautifully clear.)
There are but two panes, one above the
other below. Tuo halls aro 'finished in
oak and the chambers in piue, and almost
every ono of the latter ban an open grate,
There aro twenty-tbreo rooms exclusive
of eight - bath rooms, each one of these
having the stationary stand, tub, etc.
There is a fine billiard room in the base
ment and a Busian bath on tbe second
floor. The dumbwaiter is the sizo of an
ordinary elevater,-aweVttinK from tlio base
ment to the garret. Tbe contract for
this house made the cost $50,000, but i
will cost $73,000, if not more, many
changes having been made, differing from
tbe original plan.
