In order.te make the agricultural course
in Delaware college, Newark, Del., mere
generally useful Prof. Reinhart, in a
letter te tbe Wilmington Newt, makes
this preposition : ' ' Why should it net be
practicable te form in some of our farm

ing circles, in official connection with this
department of the college, whose aim
shall be the home study of agricultural
science?" Nothing mere beautiful than
this blending of literature and farming
could be imagined, and premine nt men
interested in agricultural pursuits wenld
doubtless be glad te contribute papers

THURSDAY:
Larere chudda shawls,four-yards,
white, and original scarlet and
gray ; $20 te $30.
1303 Chestnut.
Ready-made dresses of white
muslins, figured lawns, ging
hams and of substantial woolen
stuffs are ready in great variety;
and many ethers. There's no
such gathering of dresses any
where in town. A dollar gees
a long way, if you wish ; but we
have dresses in which economy
is by nd means the first censid
eratien.
1301 and 1303 Chestnut .street.
We have five patterns of black
Spanish-lace grenadines, all-silk,
at $1.25 ; all there are in this
country, almost certainly.
We have still hundreds of
patterns of black grenadine ;
and the finest are selling at the
prices of the net-fine. Gener
ally en fine grenadines the drop
in prices is as much as a dollar
a yard.
Wehave new "silk-and-linen "
at 50 cents. They leek well
enough, when new ; and we have
nothing te say against them at
50 cents. At the usual prices,
75 or 85 cents, we don't consider
them practicable.
Next-outer circle, south entrance le main
building.
Ivery nun's veiling, of the
quality which we have had for
two months at 75 is coming new
for 50 cents ; 44 inches wide
Ready te-day.
The variety of light and light
colored woolen fabrics is as great
as al any time ; and this season
has surpassed any before in
such. One would certainly be
unwise te buy without looking
them ever.
Fourth circle. Thirteen! h-strcct entrance.
Embroidered gingham dress
patterns have dropped te two
thirds the prices of a month age ;
$8 te $10.
Embroidered woolens are also
lower, some of them.
Third circle, south entrance te main building.
The season calls for common
handkerchiefs rather than for
fine ones. Many prefer even te
lay aside fine ones and buy cheap
for summer.
There are geed-enough-looking
handkerchiefs of all sizes for
very little money ; less than you'll
expect te pay. All-linen always.
Marking in the best manner. 3
cents.
Outer circle, south entrance te main building.
We have se many ladies'India
gauze (very thin) vests that we
shall sell them at 30 cents. Com
pare with the next-finer at 50.
West el Arcade, 13l3L'hc3tnut ; west entrance
Turkish bath towels at 15 and
20 cents ; of generous size and
quality.
Outer circle, City-hall-sqiiurc entrance.
Hardly anything contributes
mere te comiert, . under the
rather distressing circumstances
requiring it, than a fly-pan. It
revolves ever the centre of the
dining-table and scares away the
flies, while you dine and chat
in peace. Yeu wind it as a clock.
There's no hour in the day
that one would guard mere care
fully against annoying experi
ences than the dinner-hour.
Luckily flies can be driven off
and kept off, without thinking.
Every housekeeper, young or
old, would de well te wander
through our museum of kitchen
things. There is comfort for the
family, ease for the servants, and
independence for the housewife,
in them.
