te day, Mr. Robinson (X. Y.), rising te
a parliamentary inquiry, referred te tbe

Ireland had net yet been repotted
by the committee en foreign affairs,
although it was new three months
since the resolution had been referred te
the committee, and he inquired hew long
the Heuse was te wait before the commit
tee reported in regard te the American
citizens still held in jail by an impudent
aud overpowering monarch.
The speaker held that that was net a
piivileged question, whereupon Mr. Rebin
son moved te discharge tbe committce
from the further consideration ofthe reso
lution, and Mr. Cor, of Hew Yerk, sus
tained the motion.

Oswego, N. Y., April 22. L. B. Lud
low died at his home in this city last
night, aged 92 years. lie was the eldest
liviug graduate of Union college. In early
life" he was editor of the rhiladclpJiian and
in 1830 he became .secretary and chief
manager of the Nei th Western Insurance
