Piesideut Buchanan, believing it te be genuine, promptly forwarded a letter containing a cheek for SviOO, te Mr. Pet c-r.i, directing it te llairisburg, as re quested in the foregoing letter ; and en the back id the letter is endorsed in Mr. Buchanan's well-known chirography the following : " 10 Dec. 'CO. Abr. Peters. II Dee. 'CO ausw'd and sent a check for $300, en the Fairness' bank of Lancaster.'" The finger's coinage appears te have failed him, and he did net call at the Har risbutg posteffice for Mr. Buchanan's letter containing the cheek for 6300, as will be seen by the following endorsement, en the forged letter: "Ueecmbcr '-it, 1SC0.
