Washington, Jan., 20 It seems te be the prevailing opinion new that Judge Cox will allow Guiteau te speak under certain restrictions. Shortly after 10 o'clock Mr. Sceville resumed his argument, crit icising the testimony of Dr. Hamilton and then of the conspirators as he called them. Cel. Corkhill frequently interrupted Mr. Sceville until finally the latter, with some show of impatience, protested against the interruptions and releriing te the witness Mess he said he proposed te show hew the animus in the matter. He then quoted iieui the receul in a magistrate's court, showing that Mess once sued Corkhill for a three- dollar wash hill and that Ceikhill had te pay it, together with the costs. Soen afterwards a lecess was taken. Some applause followed the conclusion of Sceville's speech, which was promptly checked by the court. Colonel Cerkliil! stated that en behalf of the prosecu tion he would withdraw all objections te Guiteau addressing thejury. Judge Cox stated that he had decided te allow the prisoner te speak. Mr Davidge, who had just come in, inquired : " Is the prisoner te speak, your honor'.' if se, I would like te inquiie'abeut hew much time lie will occupy." Guiteau ' I shall deliver te the jury my .speech which has been published in al the newspapers." Mr. Davidge " I have net been it." Guiteau Well then I would advise you te get it at once and read it. I shall want about two hours your honor. I speak rapidly. After some couMiltatieu between the court ami ceunselus Guiteau was net pre pared te speak te day, the court was ad journed until to-meirow. Mr Davidge stated that Judge Perter is in quite feeble health and will probably be unable te speak befeie Monday. OUITKAU'S VICIOUS TKJIl'tK. lie Creates Anether Scene In Court. Vsihnoten, Jan. 20. As Guiteau was "neing taken out of the ceuit room at lecess te-day he stepped te speak te Mr. Sceville, when B.iiliff Tell attempted te move him along. Tell having applied some prcssuie te Guiteau the latter with his in macled hands stiuck the officer iu the brea.st, when be was at once seized by the eflieeis and turned out of the courtroom.
