with u violent bleeding or the lungs followed

Death from Fuinlgntien.
New Yerk, Jan. 11 The ste&msbip
Claribel lying at pier 1, Xerth river, was
fumigated thoroughly last night with
charcoal fumes before the hatches were put
down, preparatary te its departure. Jehn
Jenes, a sailor, lay asleep in his bunk and
was overlooked, and at daybreak he
was leund dead, having been overcome by
the deadly fumes. The coroner will in
vestigate the case.

St. PAul, Minn., Jau. 11 Jeseph Pasey
and two of his ehildrcn were burned te
death at their home near Knife Falls,
Monday night. His wife and ether chil
dren were absent, and se escaped. Beth
deceased children were girls aged respect
ively seven and thirteen. Pasey was a

Cincinnati, Jan.fll. Andy Frazier, a
negre, was arrested yesterday charged
with the assassination of Jehn Walten, a
farmer, near St. Paul, Indiana, the previ
ous night. Frazier confessed, and said he
was hired by O. M. Garrett, a neighbor, te
kill Walten. The latter was arrested, but
asked permission te go te the water closet
where he shot himself in the head inflict
ing a mortal wound.
