There was a terrible dynamite explosion en Saturday, at. the extension of the Penn sylvania railroad company's new line, en tlie north side of the Beaver liver, near Wampum, in the western part of this state. King ijmith, director of a gang of workmen, placed two dynamite cartridges in an old powder keg te dry, at neon; while the men were taking dinner, and the keg was placed about eight feet from the fire, The car tridges seen exploded, injuring six men, two of them, Jehn Burns and Wilferd Cunningham, were se badly injured that they will die. Clem Cunningham, Samuel Parker, William Weeds, Frank Shargnet and A. Bisby are seriously hurt. The men were sitting around their fire eating their flintier when the explosion took place. A Crazy .Mether's Deed. Gustavus Buss, who lives near the tan nery of Crary Brethers, at Hancock, arose about 5 o'clock last Thursday morning te prepare breakfast, her husband being still in bed. A little daughter, aged I! years, was sitting in a chair by a table at which the mother was working. Suddenly the father heard a heavy fall. Springing out of bed in his night clothes he ran hurriedly flown stairs, and was horrified te find his little daughter lying en the fleer in a peel of bleed which flowed from a gash in her threat, The child died in a short time. The mother had taken a large carving knife, it seems, and committed the bloody deed. Dr. Pettengill, who was summoned im mediately, declared that the mother was suffering from a severe attack of mania, and in his opinion was unaccountable. MAltKKTH. r f.ive Muck itiurkein. ClllCAfie.
