KNIGHTS OF IU REVOLUTION.
Their l'arade Last Night Presented with a
Haulier.

Elrey. captain of the legion, where Majer
U. Y. C. Wiiiua. a preraim.UG member of
the order from Philadelphia, was stepping,
and escorted him down te the hall. The
legion was then drawn up in Centre
njuaic en the ueiih sidj of the monument
and Majer A. C. Rciueelil, en behalf of five
ladies presented them with a handsome
banner. I fc made a short sjieech which
was resneuded te bv Majer Wiuna. en be
half of the Legien, who rcthrued their
thanks for the beautiful pretcnt. After the
speeches the line of inarch was taken
up and a shot t parade was made, as fol fel fol
eows: Cent i e Square te East King, te
Duke, toNeith Queen, te Seuth Queen
te Odd Fellow's hall. The members of the
legion looked very well in their new and
handsome uniforms, and as they came
down Net th Queen sticet, they did seme
line diillinr, inarching for some distance
in the shape of a cress. The legion wtfs
under the command of Capt. Hiram Mc Mc
Elrey. A line banquet had been prepared
at Odd Fellows' hal! and soeu after the
arrival of the legion the members sat
down te the (able. During the evening
speeches wae made by Majer Winna,
Majer Reinechl, Samuel Fritz and Mr.
Jacksen, of Wilmington, Delaware, who
is cdit"i' of Our JI'iHuer, a paper published
in the intei est of the order. After an. ex
hibition of dulling and sword exercises
was given, capt. Aickirey was presented
with an elegant geld badge, the gift of
thu legion. Majer Wiuna was the re
cipient of a fine large cake' and Majer
Reinoehl received a beautiful bouquet.
The party adjourned at a late hour after
having had a very pleasant eveuing.
The names of the ladies who presented
the banner weij : Mrs. Samuel Derwart,
Mrs. Wm Fisher, Mrs. Henry Cast, Mrs.
Henry Frailey and Frances llcckcit. They
are all mcmhcis of the Heme Communion,
a society connected with this Older. The
banner is of blue -.ill: and was made in
Philadelphia. In the middle of it there is
a large shield with the liguie " :;" around
which are the wenlsin giltletters "Wash "Wash
ingten Legien, Knights of Revolution."

Slander Case.
Frances Elizabeth Styer, of Providence
township, has brought suit against Urban
Reineer, Levi Urewn and Abraham Zahm,
for the recovery of $50,001) damages sus
tained by her by reason of certain false
and malicious rcpeits alleged te have
been eireulated by them affecting her
chastity.
Jacob lle.isler and Anna, liisAvife, have
brought suit against Jehn llesslcr for the
recovery of 65,000 damages sustained in
character and 81,000 for injury te
domestic relations, caused by reports cir
culated by Jehn Ibmslcr that Anna Hoss Hess
lcr was a lend woman and had committed
adultery.

II. Miller had a hcariuir this
morning before Squire Garinan, at Union
station, en the charge of murdering Wm.
GenscniiT at that place en Saturday night
last. The prisoner was taken from prison
te Union station this morning by Chief of
Police Dcichlcr aud Constable Welfskill.
Twe witnesses were examined te prove the
shoelin:; and the surgeon te show that
death was caused by the wound. The pris
oner was committed for trial at court.

dle strict, died about 2 o'clock this after
noon. The cause of his death was malarial
fever which he was taken with ever a week
a;e. He was well known butcher and
about JO years of age. lie was a son of
Charles Diuklcbcnr, ki. and a brother of
Philip, Frederick and Charles Dinkleberg.
He leaves a wife and several childien.

Hare Been an Errer.
Washington, Oct. 22. The case of Cap
taiu Howfate was called up in the crimi
nal court this morning, when Judge Cox
remarked te the district attorney that
forfeiture of the hail bend yesterday

an error inasmuch as the defendant was
only required by the bend te appear for
trial when notified.
3Ir. Williams, eeuifsel for Howgate,
produced and read the bund taken before
Commissioner Buudy, aud which requires
the defendant te appear aud answer any
indictment that might be found against
him at the December term of the criminal
court.
The district attorney expressed his sur
prise that such a bend had been taken,
but iusisted that he was entitled te a bench
warrant for the arrest of Howgate by the
grand jury. lie would waive that right,
however, if the counsel would undertake
te have Howgate present in court te-day.
Mr. Wi'liams gave the undertaking and
retired. The argument en the court side
of the case was postponed.
