Youns Rogers is a cooper by trade, but
has of late been given te vagrancy, and
had te leave home en account of his lazi
ness. Sanders first came te notice in the
Seventh ward constable election contest,
in which it came out that he illegally
voted for Erisman. He was for a time a
fugitive from justice for beating Wm.
McLaughlin. He has also been
charged with beating Michael Ceiilau,
Patrick Hayen, and with having
pulled Helena Shell out of a door
way and kicked her. Only yesterday he
badly beat Tem Moere a tramp, and he
seems te have been a cruel ruffian who de
lighted in beating helpless or drunken
persons. lie frequently evaded arrest by
flight te Columbia, where he consorted
with a prostitute, or te Massilon, O., where
he had acquaintances ; and when brought
te this city he could generally evade pun
ishment by the friendly testimony of some
of his gang. His father, Jehn Sanders,
by name, is an industrious, upright, labor
ing man who lives en Jehn street and
works steadily at the rolling mill.
It is reported that the doctors say Mrs.
