Many transactions in old tobacco took place this week, though but little publicity was given them. Out-of-town buyers were tlit; most active in securing fine wrappers, and figures are reported as having been paid for such stock. Outside of this nothing noteworthy occurred. The sales of '80 tobacco, which created such a stir the previous week, were net followed by ethers. ,, Our special report from Lancaster con tains very interesting newF. Buying of the new crop in Pennsylvania is being prose cuted with redoubled vigor. Frem the ether states the report regarding the new crop de net vary from these of the past month, iiuyiug is geiug en continually, if net briskly. Prospects for the leaf trade are geed, and theso wl'.e can offer geed wrapping leaf when the season sets in will find no difficulty in disposing of it. What par ticular crop will contain the most or the least of such stock, is a matter we prefer te discuss later en. The sales of the past week were as fellows : Pennsylvania Crep ;79 : 800 cases ; wrappers, 35 te 43 cents.; fine running, 23 cents ; medium, 10 te 19 cents ; fillers GJ te 7 cents. Connecticut Crep '70 : 280 cases; geed wrappers, 23 te S3 cents ; low tender wrappers, 10 cents. Ohie Crep '79 : tfOO cases running, 10 cents. Havana Market very active.
