GAME i'KOTECTlVE ASSOCIATION.
Ad Appeal te Feeil ami i'retct the Bird.
A meeting of the Lancaster County
Game I'retcctivc association tvas lield at
the office of the president, Alderman Spur
rier, last evening. Candidates for the sev
eral offices of the association were put in
nomination, te be voted for at the next
meeting, which takes place en the second
Tuesday of January. A if solution was
adopted to.precure from Xerth Carolina
as many parti idcs as can be ob
tained for stecki'.g the grounds
of the association and ether
parts of the county. In view
of the scveic weather and unusually
heavy and long continued falis of snow it
is feared that most of our native birds
will perish during the winter. Farmers
are urged te protect and feed them as far
as possible. The association eilers te pro
tect and feed duriug the winter all birds
captured and handed te either the presi
dent or fcccrctaty, and obligate themselves
te let the birds loose in the spring, en the
.same grounds en which they arc captured.
It is hoped that farmers who have net fa
cilities te house and feed the birds en their
premises will avail themselves of thi offer
of the association.

New Jersey Wine.
Tliis m iue for sickness lias long been in pop
ular favor, but by no means intoxicating in
its nature. We refer te Specr's Pert Grape
Wine, which has been introduced into the hos

Voile, the principal drug stores in this city, by
Aliivii Speer, of Passaic, X. .1., who has tie
voted himself for many years te the cultiva
tion et tlie Oporto Grape, and the study of
fermentations, and producing an article, the
medical pieperties of which are faid by gen
tlcir.cn of reputation te be unsurpassed. Mr.
5 peer ferments his wine by a new process, pe
culiar te Iiiin-elt, without the addition of tugar
or spirits. Wu doubt whether there is a vine
yard in the old or new world that can yield a
wine at all comparable te tills Ml richness or
delicacy of flavor. All first elass druggists
keep it.
The above extract tiem the Ne Yerk Her
