LANCASTER DAILY iMLLUGLiNCEK. WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24,1880. Lancaster Ihitfllfgencer. WBDNE8DAY EVEK'G, NOV. 24, 1880 Hew Fannie Jenes Found Helena. 3Iifi8 Fannie Jenes writes as fellows te the Bosten Glebe : Seme two months age I went with a party of friends te Helena, 3Ientana. It is a place of 4,500 inhabi tants, mostly men, and a geed many yenng men from the East who have geno out there te make their fortunes. Many of them arc college graduates, and hundreds are exceptionally fine specimens of young American manhood, with brains, health, pluck and industry. The result of my visit, as you may imagine, was that I was engaged te be married in less than a month. I could have had a hundred offers if I had desired, because young men are as plenty there as gins are scarce, or as i girls arc plenty in this latitude. Seme of the staid old New Englanders may think I have made a hasty engagement, but if the ladies could see my Geerge, and knew his goodness and antecedents, they would net be surprised. I am here new te get my wedding outfit, and expect te be mar ried en Christmas day. Everywhere I stepped in the new towns west I was amazed te sec hew scarce women were and what a warm welcome Bosten girls re ceived. The newspapers in New Yerk and elsewhere may poke as much fun as they please at Bosten girls. They are far above par and at a premium out West. I)ou'(. Despairing levers should take warniug from the fate of a passionate young gen tleman of Moscow and net sheet them selves until the next train is evciduc. This unfertune person had been staying for a few days by himself in a St. Pcteis- burg hotel. He ordered dinner one day te be served for two. He went te the railway station evidently te meet his ex pected friend. He returned te the hotel alone at dinner time. As his deer was fastened, and no reply could be get from within, the police were sent for. The young man was found stretched across the table shot through the heart. On the table lay the photograph of a young lady, and the fragments of a letter were found scattered about the fleer. Anether lettcr was found addressed te the propri etor of the heteI,saying that the writer had shot himself in despair because the young lady whom he had been expecting had net kept her premise Half an hour afterward came the postman, bringing a letter from the young lady herself, saying that she had missed the train and would be unable te come till the next day. The scene when the unfortunate lady arrived and was in formed of the tragedy that had taken place can be imagined. Eve. When Evr. upon the first of incn, the apple pressed with specious cant.
