The Sea Jell in lore with tlie Moen ;
The Moen only laughed at the 8eu,
And went en, turning midnight te neon ,
And silvering hill-top and lea.
" Loek clown, lovely Moen," said the Sea ;
" Beheld our own beautiful iace;
Tis se pure and se charming te me
In my heart 1 have given it place."
She looked, with a flush of disdain ;
Her glorious imaje was lliore;
And she knew for u woman in vain
Tliat the image wan spotless and fair.
A w a3" sped tlie M 0011 in her splendor ;
But oft and again Hhc would turn.
With glance growing mere and nunc tender,
Te the .Sea, where her image did burn.
There ticmhled the silvery illusion ;
Nay, Moen, de net quiver nor start ;

The tlireh et the .Sea's laithrul heart.
And the Moen, would remember and ponder
The virien she saw in the wave;
Asaway round the. weild she would wander.
And hhe knew that the Sea was her slave.
And uieulh alter mouth, when returning,
In her full Hhe would glory again.
Her laee in the ocean Mill burning
Cave the Moen a slight feeling ei pain.
(Still the Sea followed sorrowing alter.
His breast bwcllingevcr with love.
His highs waking only thelaughter
Ot the Moen tailing queenly above.
Though ages en ages have perished,
Still Leve. sings the changeless old time.
And witli passion still faithfully cherished,
Tins Sea fellows utter the Moen.
