The bride and groom left this afternoon at

Wedding at St. Authony's.
At St. Antheny's church, this morning
at 8 o'clock, Mr. August Steinwandle and
Miss Maggie' Morningstar, of this city,
were united in the holy bends of matn matn
inenv. The bride, becomingly- attired in
white, was a picture of beauty. Many
friends ami acquaintances were present,
and the wedding ceremony included a
iriand Jjiirii mas. celebrated by Rev.
Father Kaul, the pastor ; Miss Strobel
performed the wedding march, and at the
conclusion of the ceremony the happy
couple received the congratulations of
host of fiiends.

The Firemen's Union of Rcading.eu Mon

composed of delegates from all velunteei

The meeting is expected te be
a large one, and the visiting firemen will

convention will probably be held in the

While the meeting will be public, none but
delegatcr. will be allowed te vote. On the
night of the 17th a ball will be given for
the visiting firemen. The Lancaster com

The Lancaster Lyceum will be reorganized

Maude Granger. Tills gifted artist will ap
pear at Fulton opera house en Saturday even
ing in the play or "Twe Nights in Berne,"
written for her by A. C. Gnnter, and de
scribed by a no less credible authority than
the Washington Republic as "a thriUUg melo
drama or the new American school, bold In
conception and strong in construction, the
leading parts being lull and round and afford
ing scope for superior dramatic talent." The
same critic pays a high culeglum te Miss
Granger's exceptionally admirable rendition
of the leading part and says she is supported
by a company of uncommon strength.
The "Electric Lights." Tn evening W. J
Thompson's variety and dramatic company
will appear in the opera house. They will pre
sent the drama et Fer a Life." in which the
principal cliaracter is assumed by Geerge V.
Thompson, who will introduce his two trained
deg?. The list of the variety people includes
some of the best stars in the profession. Thev
are headed by T. M. Henglcr, formerly of Del
ehanty and llengler.whe were among the best
song 'and dance men in lha profession. Mr.
Delelianty died some time age.and his partner
new travels alone. The Suydam brothers arc
wonderful bar performer-, while Landis and
Steele probably have no equals as skater.
Frank White, Carrie White and a number of

regatta en the Thames opened te-day with
preliminary trial heats. The weather was
cold and foggy. The first heats were con
tested hy Laycock, Elliett, Hawdon and
Tanger and was wen by Laycock by
thirty yards; Hawdon second, Elliett
third, Tanger did net finish, the pace bc
inv tee het for him.
The second heat was contested by Ress,
Riley, Largar and Fceley. At the start
Ress jumped te the front and at Hammer
smith Bridge had secured a decided lead.
He maintained his advantage te the finish
and wen with ridiculous case. j
The third heat was between Warren
Smith, Hostner, Gibsen and Andersen, and
was easily wen by Hesmcr, with Ander Ander
eon second.
The fourth heat was greatly impeded

the heavy fog prevailing. The centcs
tants were Trickett, Nichelson and Clas
