Seed Lear Tobacco.
The New Yerk Market.
U. S. Tobacco Journal.
Connecticut of the '79 crop continues te
lead the market. Tbc demand for very
dark cigars is decreasing, and besides, this
tobacco works better with Havana tillers
than any ether.
New Yerk state seed has become quite a
favorite, especially "Big Flats,' which is
enormous in its yield and quality aud nice
in leeks and in texture.
There was a little life in '79 Wisconsin.
Havana seed leaf of that slate, while with
out much or any quality, makes at least a
fine-looking cigar, the veins being se im
perceptible. In '79 Ohie we caunet report a single
sale. Perhaps there arc some brokers who
can.
The summary of bales, all of "79 crop, is
as fellows : Pennsylvania, 300 cases run
ning ; 13 te 13 cents for medium. 18 te 20
cents for alleged line, 33 cents for oe cases
of wrappers.
Connecticut 150 cases (Housatonic)p. t.
300 cases (Hartferd) 13 te 20 cents for
running 13 cents for seconds.
jJew l erk state rz) cases : et these
7 I
about 120 were "Big Flats," at 15 te 17
cents for running ; balace medium running
state at 9 te 10 cents.
Wisconsin 200 cases : 10 cents for run.
Havana seed running, 15 te 1G cents.
Havana Market quiet. Sales 100 bales
Ne change in prices.
