Btistic Cress In Wax. C. S. J., a correspondent of the German town Telegraph, writing from Menree count', Me., gives tbc following detailed instructions for making beautiful wax work at small expense : The beautiful waxen ornaments exhibit ed under glass-shades and sold in the stores and bazaars for fabulous prices, may easily be made by any Lady willing te use care and neatness in the work. The materials required arc a light wood en cress, which are sold in all sizes for med crate sums, or may be .made at home ; one pound of white cake wax, one spool ofwhite covered wire, a bunch of delicate white stamens, two sizes of convolvulus leaf-moulds, and a wooden mould for shap ing the flowers ; also, three sizes of .Eng lish ivy leaf-moulds, a little Canada bal sam, and one tube of Chinese while oil eil paiut, and a quantity of raisin stems, tree buds, or spruce pine twigs, with a paper of Ne. 4 tacks and several sheets of "pond lily wax." Cever the cress with the twigs arranged tastefully ever the surface tacking each one firmly down. Have a small, clean pipkin, in which melt the wax. stirring in a little balsam of fir and paint color with a wooden stick until well incorporated. Held the cress ever a bread dish, and with a spoon pour the wax ever the entire surface, repeating this as it cools, until a perfectly white surface is ob tained. Scrape up and use all drippings, and when entirely coated set the cress aside in some safe place. and proceed te form the leaves and flowers. Fer the convolvulus, cut a half-dozen pieces of wax from a circular paper pat terns one inch in diameter, removing one fourth in triangular shape, using very kccn-cdgcd scissors ; then dippiug the wooden mould in water and slightly wann ing a piece of the sheet-wax, place it upon the surface and unite the cut edges, roll ing thein together with the porcelain head of a steel meulding-pin ; also press the outer edge and carefully shape the flower, the tube of which is made of a strip of wax .shaped round a ciicular stem that dimin ishes te a eint at one end, pressing the edges together and then fastening the upper wide end round the corolla, and flattening the same carefully. Next take a piece of wire three inches in length and cover with a narrow strip of wax, folded lengthwise and twirled between the linger and thumb ; fasten a pistil and live stamens round the end, and slipping it through the tube draw the stem down and press the end of the flower neatly round it ; then 1'mish with a calyx formed of live narrow sepals placed round the stem and surround ing the base of the flower-tube. Ferm several such flowers, also sonic half-blown and a few of the lcautiful spirally-wound buds. Arrange a number of the flowers, buds and heart-shaped leaves upon long strands of covered wire, dipping the leal leal meulds in water and covering the under side with wax, then placing en the stem down the centre and the upper covering of wax again, cutting the edges off neatly by pressing round the edge of the mould. The ivy leaves arc made in the same manner ; also, from clusters of ivy berries and ten drils for the convolvulus sprays. Place the cress upon a wax-covered base of three steps, or fasten against a dark velvet-covered recess, using tacks driven in through the back. Ferm full clusters of flowers and leaves round the base, then taking a long length of wiic covered with ivy leaves, arrange it te twine around the body of the cress, all clustering upon one . arm, falling in graceful sprays below ; also, fasten the convolvulus vine te clam ber up and veil the body and opposite arm, arranging a cluster of ivy leaves and con volvulus sprays upon the head piece. When finished satisfactorily, held in a warm position until the surface is slightly warmed, when sprinkle with fine diamond dust or "frosting." If desired, various flowers may be grouped round the base of the cress, and we have made one of the most admired with colored flowers, the cress covered with colored granite-sand, and a vine of pink wild roses running up the body and arms, and purple violets and white snow drops clustered about the base. Or, in imi tation of white marble, miniature calla lilies grouped at the base, with an ivy vine draping body and arms is very pretty. Many changes may be made, however, te suit the taste of the artist, the suggestions offered merely serving te give some idea of the ceurte te be pursued, in order te form these popular and beautiful ornaments. A UUOD ACCOUNT. Te sum 11 up. six long years of bcd-ri'ldcu sickness and sutlering, costing $209 per year, total, $1,200 all of which was stepped by three bottles of Hep Hitters taken by my wile, who has done her own housework ler a year since without the less et n ilav, anil I want every body te knew it ler their benefit."
