A Boek for Farmers.
" Legal Rights and Duties or Farmers."
We have been favored by the publishers
with a copy of a new book of 150 pages
entitled "Legal Rights and Duties of
Farmers." It is written and compiled by
Gee. W. Heed, esq., an able member of
the Indiana County Bar and Pennsylvania
State Beard of Agriculture, and is printed
and published by the Inquirer printing
and publishing company, this city.
The book contains information of
the utmost interest te farmers,
and its careful perusal and a familiar ac
quaintance with its contents cannot fail te
save farmers from many petty annoyances
and perhaps many expensive law suits.
The general scope of the work may be seen
from a recital of the table of contents, as
fellows : Hew te buy a farm ; what a deed
Sacludes; ways ever the farm; water
rights ; farm fences : line and overhanging
trees ; law of cstrays ; tresspassing upon
the farm ; farmer's liability for his ani
mals ; sale of stock with warrants ; fires ;
rights in the read ; landlord and tenant ;
nuisance ; table of cases ; forms (for agree
ments, leases, mortgages, judgments, no
tices te quit, &c.. &c), and the full
text of the game laws as amended
by act of assembly of June 2, 1878. A
knewledges of the law as contained in any
one of the above subjects will much mere
than repay the farmer for the cost of the
book ; and if it docs net succeed in making
every farmer his own lawyer it will at
least enable him te avoid many vexatious
law suits. The work is highly, commended
by many of the most eminent agriculturists

hereby order and command all owners of Dogs
within the city of Lancaster te shut tbem up,
or. If allowed te run, te securely muzzle the
same, from and after THUltSDAY, AUGUST
S, 1830, at 6 p.m.. In some proper place, until
the first day of September next.
The owners allowing Dogs te run at large,
unless muzzled, will be liable te the flne under
Section 2 of the Ordlnance ei 1841.
The fine Imposed by the Ordinance et 1827,
Section 2, will be Inflicted upon any person ob
structing the legally employed persons from
carrying out the Ordinances respecting the
capturing of DegB during the continuance or
