The Republican papeis have had glowing accounts of the late meeting of their party at Ephrata, but a inure veracious corres pondent than t heir's sends us an account of it which docs net acceid with that pub lished in our esteemed contemporaries. It seems that the advcitiscd speakers put in no appearance and two strolling la w crs who called themselves " Paul and Barna bas" had te entertain the multitude and te reconcile the Heg I lingers and Bull Rin gers of the distracted Republican party in that section. Their platform, by a most in auspicious circumstance, was arettcn piimphcd, ami they were in meie danger of a ceM water bath than even "Barna bas" Brosius eared te risk. The presi dent of the meeting was the seu of one who had fought against Hancock, and did net relish the praise bestowed en the great Democratic soldier's leeerd. There was a geed deal of cheering for Hancock, and when President Myers proposed three cheers for 'Gni field and Hancock" the meeting heartily responded. When he tiicd te mend his mistake by piopesing groans fur Hancock he only get laughed at for his venom. Billy Seltzer was nervous when he heaid two such anti-Grant men as Bresinsaud Wilsen were coming, lest they should denounce him for serving the Cam Cam erens at Chicago. But they kindly re frained. sai.ishuicy news. Frem Our Uegulur Correspondent. Pursuant te a call made by I. D.
