S. cavalry, had been captured and killed by the Indians en the Texan frontier. A letter received te-day by his brother, .lames E. Strachan, written by Sergeant F. W. Dudley, announces that the sup posed dead soldier has arrived at the head quarters of his command, camp Clark, Texan, badly wounded in the muscle el the left arm, but that he is in a fair way of recovery. Sergt. Dudley gives no par ticulars of his comrade's escape from Hie Indians, but says the wounded man will himself seen write the particulars.
