Tke Celery Crep. Gcrmantewn Telegraph. This is the month te set eat celery plants, and we advise that the entire crop be set out by the 25th. Fer early use it should be done at once. We have long thought that the failure of celery is mere frequently te be ascribed te late planting than te any ether cause. The ground in the trenches, which should be about six inches deep, should be well pulverized and made as rich as possible. Fer this purpose cow manure mixed with mould is excellent. An application of this mixture, te form the first " hilling-up," cannot be surpassed in ef fect. Guane water or liquid manure from the dungyard is excellent and should be applied at least once a day, in the evening. Care must be taken in hilling-up that the " leaders" of the celery are net buried, that the soil be made line, and that the mingling of it among the plants be done with the hands. It is a geed plan te plant the corn affords an excellent protection against the het July and August suns, the cornstalks te be removed as seen as the corn has been consumed and the plants have attained sufficient size and strength te take care of themselves. The best soil for celery should be rich and moist ; in fact it cannot be tee highly manured. Where there is no protection te the young plants, beards should be laid ever the trenches c cry day from 10 te 4 o'clock. Of all the crops of the garden there arc none se difficult te raise in perfection as celery. Te get it in perfection requires the fulfilment of all the conditions here briclly named. Hut after it is grown the next difficulty is te preserve it through the winter se that it will be solid and sound up te and through the month of April, provided the supply be large enough te liuld out. Protection Against Mesquites. As a sure remedy against mosquites and ether obnoxious insects, the tincture of Persian inject powder has been recom mended. The success of the picparatien depends upon the way it is applied. The tincture must be prepared with alcohol of full strength, and net diluted. It should be used with an atomizer, and, employed in this manlier, it is said that it will effect ually rid a room of insects of all kinds in a very short time. A Foel Once Mere. Agent for Keigart's Old Wine Stere, by a prominent practising physi cian et this county, who has extensively used the Brandy referred te in his regular practice. It is commended te the attention et these af flicted with Indigestion and Dyspepsia. BRANDY AS A MEDICINE. This new much abused Alcoholic Stimulant was never intended as a beverage, hut te he Used as a medicine of great potency in the cure et some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousands of victims. With a purely philanthropic motive we pre sent te the tavenible notice et invalids espe cially these alllictcd with that miserable dis ease Dyspepsia, a specitie remedy, which is nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with tecble appetite and mere or less debility, will find this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or all their ills and aches. Be It, however strictly understood that we prescribe and use but one article, and that is REIGARTS OLD BRANDY, Sold bv our enterprising young friend, II E SLAY'MAKEK. This Brandy has steed the test for years, and has never failed, as tar as our experience extends, and we therefore give it the preference ever all ether Brandies, no matter with hew many jaw-breaking French titles they are branded. One-feuith of the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia specifics would suffice te buy till the Brandy te cure any such case or cases. In proof of the curative powers of Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases et Dyspepsia, we can summon num hers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working farmer hed been afflicted with an exhaustive Dyspepsia ter a number of years; his stomach would reject almost every kind of feed; he had sour eructatiens con stantly ue appetite in tact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers and stale bread, ami as a beverage he used McUraun's Keet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, as new, preached at times, and in nis discourses often declaimed earnestly againstall kinds of strong drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, In his case, he looked up with astonishment, but alter hcarinir et its wonderful effects in tile canes et some of ids near acquaintances, he at last consented te fellow our advice. He used the Brandy faithlully and steadily; the first bottle giving him an appetite, and before the second was taken lie was a sound man, with a stomach capable of digesting anything which he chose te eat. He still keeps it ami uses a lit tle occasionally; and since lie lias this medi cine lie has been of very little pecuniary bene fit te the doctor. A Picactisinq Physician. H. E.
