The erijrin of the phrase " eating crew" is appropriately revived in these conven tion days. An old farmer en the Hudsen, below Albany, took summer boarder te eke out the profits of his farm. He sold the best of his farm products, however, and often palmed en his boarders "store" articles beujrht at a low price. Te their murmurs he replied : " I kin eat anything, I kin eat a crew." This remark was repeated se often that one of the guests finally shot a crew and get the cook te prepare it for dinner. Fearful, how ever, that the farmer might have stomach for even such a dish, the bird was liberally seasoned while cooking with Scotch suuff. The farmer was rather taken back when the dish was placed before him, but had tee much lilnck te tjvc in beaten without a trial and attacked the bird, with the re mark : " I kin de it." At the second bite he repeated, "I kin eat crew," and, as he suddenly suspended the operation of cut ting the third mouthful and began te re treat toward the deer, he added, but dang me if I hanker after it !" 0 4IS SOAPS!! The express train from Washington te Bosten, which passed through Hartferd, Conn., Wednesday morning of last week, was the scene of a rather sorrowful occurrence.
