In the burying ground of Dnngene9, Where the graves of the shipwrecked lie. Through the grass-grown loam, like flecks of loam JJlewn by the sea, hard by. Mid the time-worn marbles, with many a trace Of the wrinkling wind e'erspread. Is a tablet white as an upturned face When the spirit of life lias fled. With "Ged Knows!" brokenly carved thereon. Like a sob that has stiffened along the stone. Like a sob that is knotted in breast and threat Leng alter Its voice congeals. That mute "Ged Knows" amid death's wind rows Te the reader el tombs appeals. Tls a child's light body these daisies deck. The sole one washed ashore Frem the emigrant Xerthflcct's Ill-starred wreck And her ware-whelmed human store ; The only body of all the drowned. Nameless and nude, that was ever found. The clergyman paused in the luueral rites "The name of the dead?" queth he, "Ged knows," said the clerk of the parish kirk. And the waif et the dark, deep sea. With only these words en the headstone gray Which se much te the heart expres. Was folded away till the Judgment Day. Xcath the daisies of Dungenes. And ever at hand, in a cadence deep. The winds and the waves their requiem koep And the mists at morn, and the sun at neon. And the stars when the day is done. And the belt moon, tee, in the shimmer et dew. Wheel ever the nameless one. But Ged, in III infinite goodness, knows What ethereal name and rare Frem lips seraphic in music flews When they call te our waif up there : Ged knows :" In the earth's maternal breast Nameless and titled find equal rest. Irish-American Feeling. The coming rifle match between the American and Irish teams has created a considerable stir in the usually quiet atme- snhere of Dublin. Already the notes of preparation are beginning te be heard, and the interest awakened ever the apreaching meeting is, if possi ble, greater than that which was called forth when the representatives of the two countries men for the first time in friendly rivalry at the butts. In Ireland at the present time it is exceeding ly easy te arouse the sympathy of the pub lic in any event in which the United States is in the least interested. Of one thing the members of the American team and these who accompany them may be certain namely, that they will have a magnificent reception. Women Jfever Think i irtlic cnibix'd old bachelor who uttered this sentiment could but witness the intense thought, deeji study and thorough investiga tion of women in determining the best medi cines te keep their families well, and would note their sagacity and wisdom in selecting Hep Hitlers us the best and demonstrating it by Keeping their families in perpetual health, at a mere nominal expense, he would belerced te acknowledge that such sentiments are base less and false. mvlS-Swd&w The Doctors Yielding. Brandy as a Medicine. The following article was voluntarily sent te Mr. II. E. Slaymaker, Agent for Beigart's Old Wine Stere, by a prominent practising physi cian et this county, who lias extensively used the Brandy referred te in his regular practice. It is commended te the attention of these af flicted with Indigestion and Dyspepsia. BRANDY AS A MEDICINE. This new much abused Alcoholic Stimulant was never intended as a beverage, but te be used as a medicine of great potency in the cure of some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousandsef victims. With a purely philanthropic motive we pre sent te the favorable notice et invalids espe cially these ulllicted with that miserable dis ease Dyspepsia, a specific remedy, which is nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with tceble appetite and mere or let-s debility, will lind this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or all their ills and aches. Be it, however strictly understood that we prescribe and usp but one article, and that is REIGART'S OLD BRANDY, Sold by our enterprising young friend, II. E SLAYMAKEK. This Brandy has steed the test for years, anil has never failed, as far as our experience extends, and we therefore give it the preference ever all ether Brandies, no mutter with hew manyjaw-brcakingFrench titles they are branded. One-fourth of the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia specifics would suttlcc te buy ull the Brandy te cure any such case or cases. In proof of the curative powers et Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases et Uyspepsia, we can summon num hers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working farmer had been a filleted with an exhaustive Uyspepsia ler u number of years: his stomach would reject almost everv kind of feed; he had sour eructatiens con stantly ue appetite in fact, lie was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers and stale bread, and as a beverage lie used McGrann's Beet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, as new, preached at times, and in his discourses often declaimed earnestly against all kindsef strong drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, In his case, he looked up with astonishment, hut after hearing of its wonderful cllccts in the cases of some of his near acuuaintnnccs. lie at last consented te fellow our advice. lie used the Brandy faithfully and steadily; the lirst bottle giving him an appetite, and before the second was taken he was a sound man. with a stomach capable of digesting anything which he chose te eat. He still keeps it and uses a lit tle occasionally; and since lie has this medi cine he has been of very little pecuniary bene- 111 lO lUO UOClOr. A i.'KACTISIKO I'UYSICIAX. 11. E.
