BY ALFRED TENNYSON.
Out et the Deep, my child, out of the Deep !
Where all that was te he in all that was
Wuirled for a million aeens thre' the vast,
Waste dawn of multitudinous eddying light
Out of the Deep, my child, out of tlie Deep !
Thre' all this changing world of changeless
law,
And every phase of every heightening life.
And nine long months of ante-natal gloom,
With tills last moon, this crescent her dark
erh
Teuch'd with earth's light thou ceuiest Dar
ling Bey ;
Our Own ; a babe in lineament and limb
Perfect, and prophet of the perfect man ;
Whose face and form are hers and mine in
one,
Indlsselubly married, like our love ;
Live and and he happy in thyself, anaserve
This mortal race, thy kin, se well that men
May bless thec, as we bless thee, O young life,
Breaking with laughter from the dark ; and
may
The fated channel where thy motion lives
Be prosperously shaped and sway thy course
Along the years of haste and random youth
Unshattcrcd then full current thre' full man;
And last, in kindly curves, with gentlest fall,
By quiet fields; a slowly dying power,
Te that last Deep where we and thou are still
Nineteenth Century for May.

A Big IV inner.
One of tbe luckiest men in Europe is
Lambert Voituren, a peer Belgian collier,
the father of five young children, whose
solitary share in the Grand Franco France
Spanish lottery turned out the ether day
te be the winner of the great prize a
packet of French government securities
representing a capital of 150,000 francs.
Voituren purchased the lottery ticket from
a fellow-workman who had brought it
back with him from Paris. "When this
unluckiest of men discovered that he had
parted with the wonder-working voucher
which represented a handsome competence
he fell into se violent a transport of despair
that fears were entertained for his reason.
Frev'a Universal Pile Sunnositery. A sure
cure for every form et this distressing, painful
and often dangerous affliction. Has never
failed even where every ether remedy had
failed before. Physicians use it. Try it and
be relieved and convinced. Price, Trial Bex,
50 cents. Sold by Druggists.

A Bad Egg.
A Univcrsalist preacher was tried in EI
mira. last week for horse stealing. He gave
his age as forty-three years, said he was
born in Steuben county, and was by pro
fession a teacher. He was sentenced te
two years in the state prison, had nothing
te say against the judgment of the court,
but appeared te be well satisfied with it.
He was once a student at the Alfred acad
emy, and while there was accused of steal
ing books from the library, but escaped
punishment. It is said, tee, that just be
fore he ran away with the herse he bor
rowed a geld watch of a gentleman, since
dead, in the town of Independence, and
cither kept or disposed of it. He says he
is insane in streaks, and while in such a
condition is unable te discriminate between
ether people's property and his own !
Geed Evidence.
When such men us the Hev. Dr. Rankin,
Rev. Dr. Harvey, Prof. Green, Dr Burtinc,
Cel. Jehn K. McChesney, K. W. Ncir, and u
host of ethers equally trustworthy, certify
ever their own signatures te the marvelous
clricacy of Warner's Safe Kidney and Liver
Cure, in the diseases for which it is recom
mended, it is time te dismiss doubts en the
subject. ' inl-aw d&w
