Bebby Newcomb is playing at Harry "Williams's Academy of Music, Pittsburgh. Trimble's Varieties, Pittsburgh, lias been closed en account of bad business. Havcrly will organize another large minstrel party and will send the Mastodons te Europe. Burr Bobbins, the circus manager, has almost recovered and will put his show en the read. Barlew, "Wilsen, Primrose and "West are winning excellent press notices en their tour. Tracy Titus, the opera manager, is man aging one of Bartley Campbell's "Galley Slave" companies. Lulu Mortimer, of the Rentz-Santley troupe is the wife of Ben Leavitt, a brother of the manager. Havcrly's colored minstrels will be en larged te 100 people at the end of the sea son. Ida Fey, of the Fey Sisters, who have been here, is lying dangerously ill at her home in Covington, Kentucky. Miss Laura Joyce is playing Ruth in one of Gilbert and Sullivan's traveling "Pirate" companies. Several of Mary Andersen's company did net "go en" en Friday evening, as the piece did net require all of them. Annie Pixlcy has never played "M'liss" in New Yerk city, nor has she acted there. There is a treat in prospect for the people of that city. Geerge Thatcher occupies the chair of Charlie Backus, in the San Francisce minstrels, owing te the illness of the lat ter. Alecia Jourdan and Jehn Sheridan, sketch artists, who were last seen here with Teny Paster, are members of Jarrett's " Fun en the Bristel " troupe. Dera "Wiley, the singer who has appear ed here, has been playing Evangeline in Rice's company this season, but she recent ly resigned her position. M. B. Leavitt's Rentz-Santley company has been raking in a pile of money this season and it is said te be an excellent troupe of the kind. Charles R. Gardner, the New Yerk dra matic agent, .against whom the Dramatic JVews has always waged such a bitter war fare, is the father of Venie and Laura Clancy, the charming young actresses. "Willie Elmer Lyle, the colored burlesque prima denna, has joined Callender's Geer gia minstrels. Callender will seen have his old company back again if he keeps en. Frank McNish, the eccentric dancer, who was here with Barlew, "Wilsen, Prim rose and "West, has left them and he will new de sketches with his wife and sister-in-law, who are known as the Leland sis ters. A minstrel troupe composed of three persons, who travel under the name of the "Sunlight Minstrels," have been giving entertainments in some parts el the coun try. They de most of their walking by moonlight, notwithstanding the name. Emersen Minstrels performed in Elmira N. Y., a few evenings age and although they had Luke choelcraft, Seamen & Semcrs and the Girard Brethers, extcn- sevely billed, none of them appeared They closed the season there and went te Bosten where they will open at a theatre leased recently by R.
