By reason of the conflicting claims of Mrs. and 3Iiss Rhey, Reed, McGrann & Ce , re fuse te pay te either of them the sum en deposit until it shall be legally determined which of them is entitled te it. Philadelphia Evening Telegraph, Rep. Mr. Meuat, a select councilman of the great moral city of Philadelphia, can be guilty of the most criminal acts, and yet escape the penalty of his crimes because he is one of that strong political brotherhood that, if it cannot pack juries or shape ver dicts, can mitigate the rigor of jus tice by commanding clemency. This persons did what he did because he knew that he would net be punished for it, and therefore he is net as much te blame for what he did as is the society in which he lives, which confesses te him and all like him its inability te reach and punish him or them for of fenses against it. There is the great un written law of the quarter sesiens, which is ever se much stronger than the written law, which decrees that guilt sustained 4y political influence is as geed as innocence that can be proved, and very much better than innocence that cannot be. The prac tice of the quarter sessions has net been of a sort te inspire persons of Mr. Meuat's daring disposition with awe, and if it were new te turn about aud convict and punish him for the common crime of attempting a fraud upon the ballet-box, he would have just cause te complain of its discrimina tion, for it lias net been the practice in that court te deal harshly with political offend ers. Slaymaker, Agent for Keigart's Old Wine Stere, by a prominent practising physi cian et tliis county, who has extensively used the Brandy referred te in his regular practice. It is commended te the attention of these af flicted with Indigestion and Dyspepsia. BRANDY AS A MEDICINE This new much abused Alcoholic Stimulant was never intended as a beverage, but te be used as a medicine of great potency in the cure of some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousands of victims; With a purely philanthropic motive we pre sent te the favorable notice et invalids espe cially these afflicted with that miserable dis ease Dyspepsia, a specific remedy, which is nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with teeble appetite and mere or less debility, will find this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or ail their IBs and aches. Be it, however strictly understood that we prescribe and uie but one article, and that is; REIGrARTS OLD BRANDY, Sold by our enterprising young friend, II. E.SLATOIAKEU. This Brandy has steed the test for tradk mark, years, and has never failed, as far as our experience extends, and we thercfeic give it the preference ever all ether Brandies, nomniterwiiunewmanyjaw-Drcaiiingrrencu titles thev are branded. One-leu rth of the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia specifics would suffice te buy all the Brandy te cure any such case or cases. In proof of the curative powers et Reigart'B Old Brandy, In cases et Dyspepsia, we can summon mini bers of witnesses one caac in particular we cite: A hard-working farmer hud been ainlcted with an exhaustive Dyspepxia ter a number of years; his stomach would reject almost every kind of feed; he had sour eructatiens con stantly ue appetite in lact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers ami stale bread, and as a beverage he used McG rami's Beet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, as new, S reached at times, and in his discourses often eclaimed earnestly against all kiudsef strong drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, In bis case, he looked up with astenislunent, but after hearing of its wonderful effects in the cases of some of his near acquaintances, he at last consented te fellow our advice. He used the Brandy faithfully nnd steadily; the first bottle giving him an appetite, aud before the second was taken he was a sound muii.wlth a stomach capable of digesting anything which he chose te eat. He still keeps it and uses a lit tle occasionally; and since he has this medi cine he has been of very little pecuniary bene fit te the doctor. A Practising Physician. H. E.
