The following article was voluntarily sent te V.-'"' ": J" Slaymaker, Agent for Reigart's Old v me Stere, by a prominent practising physi cian of this county, who has extensively used the I.randy referred te in his regular practice. It is commended te the attention of these af flicted with Indigestion and Dyspepsia. BRANDY AS A MEDICINE. This new much abused Alcoholic Stimulant was never intended as a beverage, but te be used as a medicine of great potency in the cure et some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousands of victims. Uith a purely philanthropic motive we pre sent te the favorable notice et invalids espe cially these atllicted with that miserable dis ease Dyspepsia, a specillc remedy, which is nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with feeble appetite and mere or less debility, will find this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or all their ills and aches. P.e It, however strictly understood that we prescribe and use but one article, and that is REIGART'S OLD BRANDT, Sold by our enterprising young friend, II. E.SLAY3IAKER. This lirandv has steed the test, for trauk hark, years, and has never failed, as far as our experience extends, mid we therefore give it the preference ever all ether I'randics, iioinatterwithhewmanyjaw-breaking French titles they are branded. One-fourth of the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia specifics would suflicc te bny all the Drandy te cure any such ease or cases. In proof of the curative powers et Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases of Dyspepsia, we can summon num bers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working farmer had been mllicted with an exhaustive Dyspepsia ler a number of years; his stomach would reject almost every Kind of feed; he had sour eructatiens con stantly no appetite in fact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers and stale bread, and as a beverage he used McGrann's Reet fleer. He is a 3Iethedist, and then, as new, preached at times, and in his discourses etten declaimed earnestly against all kinds el strong drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, In his case, he looked up with astonishment, but after hearing of its wonderful ellects in the cases of some of his near acquaintances, he at last consented te fellow our advice. He used the Drandy faithfully and steadily; the lirst bottle giving him an appetite, and before the second was taken he was u sound lnan.with a stomach capable of digesting anything which he chose te eat. He still keeps it and uses a lit tle occasionally; and since he has this medi cine he has been of very little pecuniary bene fit te the doctor. A Pkactisise Phvsiciaj.'. CONGRESS. In the Senate. Washington dispatch te the Times. The news from the Pennsylvania Itcpub licau convention created great interest here. Hotels and telegraph offices were full of people who sought news from Har risburg. Blaine was at a dinner party at Senater Allisen's, and attended the wed ding of D. C. Ferney's daughter after wards. Returning home about mid night, he received several dispatches giv ing the result of the day's session, but de clined saying anything about the matter further than te suggest the moral e.'l'cct of twenty or thirty majority would net be a very strong cxamplu te ether states, especially when Cameren contrails the state as he does. The friends of Blaine arc greatly elated at the result, saying that his strength in the stite must be greater than that of Cameren or Grant, else one hundred and thirteen men. in the face of Cameren's anger and ven geance, would net have dared te stand up as they did. It is known here that Den Cameren was mere interested in the Har risburg convention than in any ether political event of his life, "When the Leeds-McManes delegation was here Mc Manes was net in favor of instructing for Grant, and during an interview in Camer Camer on's house the latter was greatly excited and walked up and down the lloer in a great state of mind, declaring that if he failed in Harrisburg it would be bis polit ical destruction.
