three clowns.

decided hit at the Arch, in Philadelphia.

Prof. Coeke will expose Spiritualism

Jehn T. Kaymend was unable te appear
at Jlcmphis last week, in consequence of
an attack of pneumonia.
P. T. Barnum rcccutly gave $1,000 tow
ard the erection of a new hospital in
Bridgeport, Conn.
Teny Denicr's pantomime troupe opens
at the New National, Philadelphia, next
week.
Sam. T Jack, manager of Alice Oatcs,
was married in Bosten, en Sunday, te
Alice Tewnscnd, a member of that com
pany. It is said that if the season continues as
geed as it has been the " Tourists " will
clear $40,000 this season.
Abbey "Ilumpty Dumpty " troupe
opens at Beeth's, Xcw Yerk, for eight

will star in a new play entitled, "Settlers,
or the Child of the Weeds."
Celliers company, which visits us in
March, is probably the strongest regular.

Miss Katie Mayhcw has sold te Jehn E
McDonough, for $1,000, all her right, title
and interest te the play of "M'liss." This
will allow of its production, by Miss Pix
ley, within the boundaries of Xew Yerk
state.
The local en Madame llcntz's minstrels,
which appeared in the Examiner of Tues
day evening, should have been credited te
the Albany Evening Journal, in which it
had appeared once in the same words pre
cisely. Salvini is net doing well in Vienna, pro
bably because the Viennese de net under
stand Italian, but many will attribute it
te the luck of theheuse(thc King Theatre)
which has had nine managers in four years
most of whom it has bankrupted.

eon, after a successful tour through the
English provinces with her new play,
"Ferget .Me Net."' In February she ap
pears at t'ic Prince of "Wales theatre, and
next fall comes te the Unted States te
star in the piece.
"Pice' the trick clown, who has been
traveling with Celes' circus for several
years, is the brother of Geerge II. Adams,
of Ten" Denicr's company. Their father,
Charles II. Adams, who is the Grimaldis
Pantaleon, recently celebrated the thir
tieth anniversary of his wedding.
Jee Gaylerd, of Philadelphia, will reor
ganize the Skiff & Gaylerd minstrel com
pany if he can secure a, partner with sulli
cicnt capital, He says the troupe has a
" thirty years standing reputation." The
members of it also secured geed reputa
tien as walkers whenever it started out.

up out of the chorus bow singing at the
Fifth Avenue, and will sing only in the
