JHfe." t- r-j i A. ; - ILancastet Intelligencer. SATUEDAY EVENING, JAN. 3, 1880. A Terrible Adventure. A Hungarian Weed Chopper 'Imprisoned in the Snow. A thrilling, but fortunately net fatal, ac cident occurred last week en the Blue mountains, in Northern Berks county. A short time age a party of ninety Hungarian immigrants, at Castle Garden, were en gaged by a party who sent them into the Blue mountains, near Lcnhartsvillc, Berks county, te chop weed. Among them was a tall, Jblack-bcardcd man, named Adelph Hintzky, very .strong, and of admirable physique a circum stance te which he ewes his life. The party live in rude shanties in the weeds, but Hintzky, who was anxious te leain the English language, left his companions and took bearding in the hut of a charcoal burner named Marks. Last Tuesday morning he shouldered his axe, and went te his work -alone, taking his dinner with him. He did net return at night, nor was anything seen of him for several days. But neither his companions nor Marks seem te have troubled themselves about him, and no search was made for him. Three days afterward, a hunter who was chasing a rabbit, found Hintzky pin ned te the ground under a tree which he had been chopping and which had fallen before he expected it and caught him. A projecting rock by his side lccciving the weight of the tree and saved him from being crushed te death, but he was held se fast that lie could move, only one arm and could de nothing te extricate himself. The hunter was obliged te leave him there and go te Marks' cabin, two miles distant, te summon help, before Hintzky could be released ; which was only done at last by chopping away the tree. Hintzky. when found, was dumb and speechless and nearly dead. His cars, nose and one hand were frozen, and he was covered with snow. He was taken te Marks s place, where vigorous treatment seen brought him round, and he was able te tell his story. He said a sudden gust of wind had blown the tree ever en him and the fall knocked him senseless. "When he came te he was wet and cold and his limbs were numb It began te snow, and with his free hand he managed te cover his cars and then put that hand in his pocket. He lay in that position from some time en Tuesday until Thursday afternoon, with nothing te eat or drink, and with the hope of succor grewinir faint er every hour. He was found just in time, for in his enfeebled condition the intense cold of Thursday night would have cer tainly frozen him te death. This new much abused Alcoholic Stimulant was never intended as a beverage, but te be used as a medicine of great potency in the cure of some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousands el' victims. With a. purely philanthropic motive wc pre sent te the favorable notice fit invalids espe cially these atlllctcd with that miserable dis ease Dyspepsia, a specific remedy, which is nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with feeble appetite and mere or less debility, will find this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or all their ills and aches. Be it, however, strictly understood that we prescribe and use uui enearueie, anil mai is, REIGART'S OLD BRANDY, Sold by our enterprising young trlenil, 11. K.bLAl.MAIVl-.i;. Tills Brandy lias stoeil the test for tuadk mark, years, ami has never failed, as Un as our experience extends, and we theiel'ere give it the preference ever all ether Brandies, no matter with hew many jaw-breaking French titles they are branded. One-fourth of the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia specifics would sullice te buy all the Brandy te cure any such case or cases. In proof of the curative powers of Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases et Dyspepsia, we can summon nmii; bers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working tanner had been ntllictcd with an exhaustive Dyspepsia for a number of years; his stomach would reject almost every kind of feed; he had sour eructatiens con stantly ue appetite in fact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers anil stale bread, and as a beverage he used Mc(J rami's Uoet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, as new, preached at times, and in his discourses etten declaimed earnestly against all kinds of strong drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, In his case, he looked up with astonishment, but after hearing of its wonderful effects in the cases of some of his near acquaintances, lie at last consented te fellow our advice. Jle used the Brandy faithfully and steadily; the first bottle giving him an appetite, and before the second was taken he was a sound num. with a stomach capable of digesting anything which lie chose te eat. He still keeps it ami uses a lit tle occasionally; and since lie has this medi cine he has been of very little pecuniary bene fit te the doctor. A Piiactisine Physician. H. E.
