Doum.As Democrats ! Will you follow such friends of Douglas, as Logan, Con liess, Rawlings, Robert Martin Douglas, Holden and Cresswell, or obey the coun sels of his rebel and Democratic enemies, J. S. Black, Wm. Bigler, lliester, Clymer, George W. Woodward and Jeilersou Davis? THE Democratic" Sailors' and Sol diers Club of Washington city has Lusted. Last week its President resigned, and avowed himself for Grant, and a few days ago the Secretary did likewise. So the world moves, and so do " bread and butter" patriots. E. lticumtios was the first man to fly a Seymour and Blair flag in Boonville, near Utica. That flag has been taken down by Mr. Richards and the banner of Grant and Colfax substituted for it. THE stone that hit the Democracy— the Keystone. VOTERS OF GErrYS4IIVEG ! Are you ready to side with the men who made your town and county au acledama—a cid q' blood VOTERS OF CII AMB ElttiBERG ! Mark for this, loyal men, mark him ! Hug' a few days are between us and I.ection day. Let them be given to c:truest and unremitting work! TIIE Legislature of Indiana stands as : Senate—Republicans, 21 ; Dem twrats, 19. house of Representatives— epublicans, 55 ; Democrats, 43. WE earnestly request that the Demo cratic party will hold together five days longer. As Butler once pithily remarked, is a hard matter to kick at nothing. HAirrnAN FT'S official majority in the State is 9,677. N. 11. ntrremsoN, heretofore an active I.>a rrisburg Democrat," who voted for i;oyle and Ent on the 13th inst., public proclaims himself a Grant man. THE spirit of repudiation is so strong in the Democratic party that they talk f repudiating their own candidates. SEY7tIOPrIt to Grant, 1863: Where are y ;air victories ? Then the Laked question comes up : Grant, the -Acher statesman, or Seymour, the rebel vmpathizer ? Loyalty or disloyalty? A country or no country? Ti LE Louisville Journal says that the . 4 - sult is disheartening,'' but the duty of the _Democracy is to stand firm." As the drunken man said, when he got a frill hold on the sidewalk: "Whirl on, ye can't get me oil my balance'now." THE vote of every wounded soldier will.have a great influence in deciding whether the pension he now receives hall be continued till his death. Re member, wounded soldier, the Demo ( ratte leaders have but to take. one step more, to insure the repudiation of your pensions. A GENTLEMAN, while recently visit ing the Gettysburg battle-field, remarked lo the guide that accompanied him that the supporters of Seymour and Blair ought to come there. " Alt," said the " they don't come here , they don't like it. I have not taken ten Democrats over this ground except the Southerners, who have been here to look for their friends' graves. But of Republicans there have been many thousands." SHALL rebels rule or' not rule the country they tried so hard to distroy ? This is the question to Ice decided on Tuesday next. Who doubts what the verdict of the American people will be ? focal ttins. PUSH TmistosI'—REPUBLICAN MEET INGt3 IN THE COUNTY.—The following meetings in the county have been an nounced: Georgetown, Friday evening, Oct. 30th. Speakers—Capt. J. P. Rea, J. B. Am wake, B. C. Kready, Ellwood Griest, A. C. Reinoehl and Emlen Franklin, Esqs. East Hempfleld, at the public house of Jacob Immel, Saturday evening, Oct. 31st. Speakers—J. P. Rea, Ellwood Griest. B. C. Kready and P. D. Baker, Esqs. BIIR.KS COURTY.—Over six hundred Republicans throughout the county of Betio failed to cast their votes on the 13th, and this fact accounts for the in crease of the Democratic majority to 6,- 500. At a meeting of the Committee on Saturday, measures were adopted to bring every voter to the polls, and indi cations are now that at the next election Berks will do a shade better. •On Saturday evening an immense meeting was held at Birdsboro, which was attended by over five hundred from the city of Readmg, The meetin g was ad dressed by Ex-Gov. Miller, of Minn., J. H. Seltzer, Esq., of Philad'a. That eve ning.,a large meeting was held in front of the Union League House, Reading, which was addressed by Hon. J . . W. Killinger and E. H. Rauch. Our friends, not only of th, city, but of the interior of that county are working now as they never worked before. EAMSTOW N.—The Republican meet ing at Reamstown, on Saturday afternoon and evening, was a large and very enthusiastic gathering—held opposite Rhoads' Ilotel, where a speakers' stand was erected, and the occasion was en livened by the excellent music of the Reamstown Band. The meeting in the afternoon was called to order by Capt. Godshalk, and was addressed by Messrs. E. 11. Rauch and W. K. Seltzer, Esq's. The turnout in the evening was very large—including that live and patriotic organization of Tanners from Adams town. The meeting was called to order by J. G. Garman, Esq., and presided over by Capt. Godshalk and a number of Vice Presidents, and ably addressed by Hon. G. A. Grow, Hon. E. Billingfelt, W. K. Seltzer, M. S. Fry, and H. B. Hendel. East Cocalico did well on the 13th inst. It will do still better on Tues day next. DR. C. GARBER :—This gentleman, well and fovorably known in the North ern part of the county now residing in the city of Canton, Ohio, is working for Grant and Colfax just as he used to work here in the " Old Guard"—with rolled up sleeves and with all his might. We learn from the Canton Repository that the Doctor offered, "on his own hook," a beautiful banner to the district in Stark county showing the largest Republican gain at the October election, which was WOll by the township of Nimishillen. Co on il)octor ! Give the Cops just one more ilose, and then lay 'em out ! THE B ANNER, DISTRICT.-011 Monday last, the County Committee awarded the prize banner to the borough of Mount Joy, having given an increase of fifty-six over the Republican majority of 181i0. Adamstown Borough, Manheim town ship, the Fourth ward of Lancaster city, East Lampeter and other districts were nearly as good as Mount Joy ; but as the latter came out one length ahead, the prize was fairly won. Which district will give us the greatest increase on next Tuesday ? We think it will be somewhere in the northern part of the county. REPUBLIC AN RALLY IN LANCASTIUt.- On Friday evening last a large and en thusiastic meeting of Republicans of Lancaster city was held in the Court House, under the auspices of the Grant and Colfax Tanner's Club. Col. D. W. Patterson, presided, and introduced Col. J. W. Forney, editor of The Press, who made an able and telling speech, which was enthusiastically applauded. Col. Worrell, of Harrisburg, followed with amusing and entertaining remarks. The meeting adjourned at a late hour. RETURNED HomE.—Our fellow towns man, Gen. J. W. Fisher, who has been engaged in stwnping the State of Dela ware, returned to his home a few days since. lle represents the Republicans of that, state as wide awake and deter mined to do their " last best" on Tues day next. The General has been hard at work during the entire campaign, and by his forcible and eloquent speeches, has done good service for the cause of Liberty and Justice. NEW ADVERTISEMENTS.
