RECIPES. A. nice tony to Preserve Corn. —Take! tho corn from the cobs in its raw state, and pack it in a stone jar or crock, with alternate layers of corn and salt, adding a small quantity of white sugar, l'lace a weight on the top that it may draw its own pickle. It will keep well all winter. Excellent Recipe for Cucumber Pickles. —Put tho cucumbers into a tub; pour boiling water on them; let them stand lour hours; take them out and let them drain dry. Then take vinegar, make it boiling, and to every gallon add one tea cup of salt, one tablespoon of tine alum; all the spice you wish boil with the vinegar; pour boiling ever the cu cumbers; close the vessel well and put away for use. Pennsylvania Pudding. — One pint ol milk, a tablespoon of washed rice, halt a cup of raisins; sugar to the taste, a little salt and nutmeg; mix all togelh er and put it in to bake; stir it up after it has skinned over lour times, mixing up raisins and rice with the milk each time; let it bake until the rice is cooked; serve cold, with cream and sugar. Ginger Bread. —One cup molasses, one of sugar, one of milk, three egg-<, four cups of flour, one small cup ot butter, two teaspoons of cream of tar t r, one of soda, ginger and cloves.
