FOAM .SAUCE FOB PUDDINGS. —One teacup of sugar, two thirds of a cup of butter, one teaspoon of flour; beat all together until smooth; then place over the flre, and stir in rapidly two gills of boiling water, season with nutmeg, soda the size ot a pea. INDIAN CAKE.—TWO pints of In dian meal, one pint of flour, one cup of molasses or sugar, two teaspoons of cfeum tartar, one of soda, milk to mako it just soft enough to pour. PLAIN COOKIES. —Three cups of su gar. one of butter, one of milk, one j teaspoon ot soda, two ot cn-am tartar, j three eggs, flour sufficient to knead soft. Cut in small cakes and hake. j JWKM.IV , BROKEN VESSELS- CEMENT. —To naif a pint ot milk put a sufli cient quantity of vinegar in order to curdle it; separate the curd from the whey, and mix the whey with the whiles of four eggs, heating the whole well together; when mixed, add a little quick lime through a sieve until it ac quires the consistency of a paste With this cement broken vessels or cracks can he repaired; it dries quick ly, and resists the action of water and j fire. WATER PROOF COMPOSITION FOR BOOTS AND SHOES. Take boiled oil, 1 pint; oil of turpentine, black rosin aud bees wax, of each 5 ounces. Melt the wax and rosin, then stir in the oil, re | move the pot from the tire, and when it has cooled a little, add the turpen tine. HORSE MEDICINES—A correspondent of the Northern Farmer, says; I find the following of much value to my horses. When the blood is out of order, or to restore lost appetite, 1 use, one lb. good ginger, 4 uz. powdered gentine, 1 ' oz. nitre. £ uz. crude antimony mixed; give one large spoonful every day in wet feed. It is perfectly safe. COLIC OR INFLAMATION OF THE CIIEST OR BOWELS. —One oz. sweet spirits of ether, 1 oz. tincture of opium, 1 oz. spirits of camphor, 4 drachm aconite; water, milk warm, 1 quart; give 4 and if no better in thirty minutes, give the balance. INFLAMED BLADDER—I drachm tar- ; tar emetic, $ oz. prepared kail, 1 drachm ' camphor rubbed to powder, with a few drops spirits of wine; to be given every few honrs, or throe times a day in a pint of water gruel STRAIN IN HORSKS.—A very good remedy lor a sprain in the stifle joint, or elsewhere, is as follows : 1 oz. oil of origanum, 1 spirits of turpentine, 1 British oil, 1 spirits of nitre, 1 quart of alcohol. Mix and rub in well. To CIRK POLL EVIL IN HORSES.— Mix copperas and hog s lard, and sim mer over the tire in an iron pot; with this rub the part affected plentifully two or three times a week and let the hot sun dr.ve it in. The application should be made before the disease has gone too far. Mind to keep rubbing until a cure is effected; it takes time.
