Hollow Horn or Horn Ail. —Take a quantity of black ash bark; steep it strong and give a pint of the warm decoction to a dose, at the samo time bathing the loins thoroughly with the same. I will warrant a cure in two days. It does not need to he given but once.— Rural American. Thumps in Hoys. —l tahlespoonful of copperas at a feed to every ten shoats, given three or four times a week, will both prevent and cure tli is disease.— The copperas should he dissolved in a small quantity of warm water and then mixed with the slop or feed.— Cor. Scab —lt is said that the shepherds in Spain cure the scab in sheep with an ointment made of the trunk and roots of the Juniper, by breaking them into small pieces and infusing them in water. Blomly Milk and Caked Bag. —J. D Churchill, in the liural American says that half a teaspoon of saltpetre once a day for a week is the best remedy he ever used for blood}' milk or caked bag in cows. It is simple enough any how. Cakes and Puddings. Mince Pies. —Take ft pound of beef, free from skin and strings, and chop it very fine; then two pounds of suet, which likewise pick and chop; then add three pounds of currants nicely cleaned and perfectly dry, one pound and a half ol apples, the peel and juice of a lemon, half a pint of sweet wine, half a nutmeg, with pimento in fine powder; have citron, orange, and lem on-peel ready, and put some in each of the pies when made. Miner Meat —Six pounds of currants, three pounds of stoned raisins, three pounds of apples chopped fine, four pounds of suet, two pounds of sugar, two pounds of beef, the peels and juice of two lemons, a pint of sweet wine, a quarter of a pint of brandy, half an ounce of mixed spice. Press the whole into a deep pan when well mixed. Old English Christmas J'tum Pudding. —To mako what is termed a pound padding, take of raisins well stoned, currants thoroughly washed, one pound each; chop a pound of .-uet very fine and mix with them; add a quarter of a pound of flour, or bread very finely crumbled, three ounces of sugar, one ounce and a half of grated lemon peel, a blade of mace, half a small nutmeg, one teaspoonful of ginger, half a doz en eggs well beaten; work it well to gether, put it into a cloth, tie it firmly, allowing room to swell, and boil net loss than seven hours. It should not be suffered to stop boiling. A Iltch Holiday Pudding —One pound ofraisinsstoned, one pound of currants, half a pound of beef suet, quarter of a poud of sugar, two spoon ful of flour, three eggs, a cup of sweetmeats, and a wineglass of brandy. Mix well, aud boil in a mould eight hours. A Good Holiday Pudding.— One pound of flour, two pounds of suet, one pound of currants, one pound of plums, eight eggs, two ounces of candied peel, ul monds and mixed spices according to taste. Boil gently for seven hours. Little I lum (Juiccx to Jveej> Loiuj.— Dry • ono pound of flour, and inix with six ounces of finely pounded sugar; beat six ounces of butter to a cream, and add to three eg-s well beaten, half a pound of currants washed and nicely dried, and the flour and sugar; beat all for some time, then dredge flour on tin j)jates, and drop the batter on them the size of a walnut. If properly mix ed, it will be a stiff paste. Bake in a brisk oven. Queen Calee.— Mix one pound of dried flour, the same of sifted sugar and washed currants; wash one pound of butter in rose water, heat it well, then mix with it eight eggs, yolks and whites beaten separately, and put in the dry ingredients by degrees; beat the whole an hour; butter little tins, teacups, or saucers, filliug them only half full; sift a little fine sugar over just as you put them into the oven.
