Flour, drain, &c.
Flour and Meal —The foreign news has had
little or no effect on the market; the export
demand for Flour continues limited, but with
a continued falling off in the receipts and a
reduced stock on sale, holders are firmer in
their views and not anxious sellers at previ
ous quoted rates. The week's sales reach
about 7000 bbls, mostly at $G bbl for stan
dard superfine, including 500 bbls deliverable
in a month at the same rate; 1000 bbls, extra,
in lots, at $0
and 2000 bbls, mostly straight superfine, ta
ken to-day, also at SO "fl bbl, which price is
now refused by most holders for straight
brands, which are very scarce. The inspec
tions for the week ending the 23d inst., are
8200 bbls Flour, 30 half do do, 1155 Corn
Meal, and 789 do Rye Flour.
Grain —The receipts and sales of "Wheat
continue light, but the demand is steady, and
prices have advanced 3(a;sc f* bu, sales of
about 20,000 bu having been made in lots at
144(a;152c for fair togoed reds, and 155(5i1G2
for white, the market closing at our highest
figures. Rye has been in good demand and
scarce, and all offered found ready sale at 82c
for Penna. Corn is 2(7r 3c better, and about
40,000 bu, mostly new Southern yellow, found
buyers at GQT72C afloat, and 68(,70e in the
cars and from store, including old Corn at
G8(0,70c in store, and new White at G6@G7c
afloat. We quote to-day at ourhighestfigures.
Oats arc also better, with but few offering,
and about 10,000 bu Delaware and Penna
have been taken on arrival at 49(5,530.

HOVER'S LIQUID HAIR BYE.
I'HIS HAIR DY E needs only a trial to sat
[ isfy all of its perfection as a Dye, and the !
following testimonial from that eminent Ana
lytical Chemist, Professor Booth, of the U. S.
Mint, will only confirm what thousands have
previously borne testimony to.
LABORATORY FOR PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY, I
St. Stephen's Place, £
Philadelphia, February 17th, 1857. j
" Being well acquainted with the substances :
composing Hover's Liquid Hair Dye, I am satis- i
Red that by following the simple directionsgiv- j
en for its use, it will not injure Hair or Skin,
but will give a natural and durable color to the
Hair. JAS. C. BOOTH, Analytic Chemist.
HOVER'S IVRITLYG LYKS, including Ho- j
rer's Fluid and Hover's Indelible Inks, are too well j
known and introduced to require any additional i
testimony of their character. The sales have
been increasing since their introduction, !
giving evidence that the articles truly possess j
that intrinsic merit claimed at first for them by
the manufacturer.
Orders, addressed to the manufactory, No. !
