One of the richest cases we remember to have heard of happened a short time since in a neighboring State, not a thou sand miles from New Hampshire. A dif ficulty had occurred, as difficulties some times will occur between a preacher and : the choir of his church, which for a con siderable time deprived the congregation of the benefits of the services of the above named orchestra. The delinquents at length repented, and appeared in full num- ! bers at the usual time of services. The • parson ascended the pulpit as usual, looked i about on the congregation, paying particu lar notice to the unexpected accession to his hearers, and when the time arrived for reading the hymn, he rose, and with a very significant tone, look and air, and with his eyes fixed upon the recent absen tees, began— " Are ye wretches yet alive. And do you yet rebel." A rambling correspondent of an East ern weekly, says of St. Louis: "I have now been here over one month, and have come to the following conclusion regard ing St. Louis. It would be a desirable place for pleasure, if there were clean streets, public squares, residents that would wash their pavements once a year, no ponds of stagnant water, cool weather, and a very large musqxtito bar all around the toivn." 1 A eobler has just located himself at Spalding, and attracts attention with the following address outside his shop : * Surgery performed on old boots and shoes, by adding of feet, making good the legs, binding the broken, healing the wounded, altering the constitution, and supporting the body with new soles. Thousands of cases have been com pletely cured by it within the last year, which have been entirety despaired of by the regular family physi cians. We do not recommend it to cure everything—we recommend it to cure Dyspepsia, and the d.seases origi nating from it, and that it will cure in almost every case, ami it is recommended for nothing else. In many iu staiic--?, even the worst of cases have been completely cured in two and three mouths, but itdepends somewhat upon the constitution of the patient. We would say to all who are afflicted with Dyspepsia, give this medicine a fair t-rial, and if it fails to do good, your money will be returned. A LSO, My Vegetable Worm Powders. This is the most wonderful Worm Destroyer ever known, and at the same time, so pleasant to take, that almost every child will b ■ fond of it. and many instances have been known l children crying for more after once taking it. This medicine is in the form of a powder, the only medicine ever used in that form, and it operates on a principle entirely different front any other medicine ever administered by any other physician. I; is the only medicine which has no Worm-seed Oil or Turpentine combined with it, whic.it is believed by all other physi cians, to be the only two things which will destroy worms, and these two things combined, together with cm or oil, are the active principles of ail other worm medicines, winch every person who has ever tasted or MII tiled, knows to be the most nauseous of all nauseous motilities, ami oil account of which, there is generally i-omething uddeil to destroy litis nauseous taste, and in order to do thi?, it must be something stronger than the nieil rine itself, and therefore, it must necessarily destroy some of its medicinal properties. 1 iiese powers are simple and so harmless, that a child may cat a wli.de box at once, and it will not be hurt, white at the same time, the principle upon-which it acts being different from any thing else ever used, it will destroy all kinds of Worms with a certainty never equaled. It will not only destroy the seat worms, or Asearides, ami lone, round worms,or Teres, but is the most effectual medicine for the destruc tion of the Tape Worm ever known. Ten doses have brought as many as FIVE Tape Worms from one person. It' your children have any symptoms of worms, try these powders, and in nine cases out of ten. you will nev er use any other. These are also warranted. These medicines arc all separate, and one for each dis ease, and each for only one disease. They are not re commended, as many other medicines are, to cure some fifteen or twenty diseases, and all of different natures, but they are each to rure but one disease, and that they will do in ninety -nine cases out of every hundred, and where they have a fair trial and fail In ail cases, the money will be returned. mi. Respected Sir : I have been for a series of years afflict ed with Dyspepsia, Inactivity of the Liver, and Nervous Debility. My menial powers have been so reduced as to render me quite unfit for the transaction ofanv kind of business. After consulting many eminent physicians, and using their prescriptions, and after using the most popular remedies of the day, supposed to be applicable to my case, I always failed to have permanent relief. A friend, with much persuasion, induced me to try a bottle f your celebrated Bitters. I have used one bottle, and this day commenced the second. 1 can with cheetfi.l ness state that it has happily improved me. My appe tite and spirits have astonishingly improved, and 1 begin to feel as though I had grown (suddenly) ten years younger, and really, I am almost prepared to say that i now consider myself calculated for any business, while, ten days ago, 1 would have as soon undertaken to /quart a circle as to have attempted it. Yours respectfully, A. A. KAUFMAN. To Dr. C. M. Jackson, 120 Arch street, Philadelphia. The Editor of "Scott's Weekly Paper," one of Ihe largest literary and family newspapers published in Phil' adelphia, says: " Dr. Hoofland's German Bitters, manufactured b* Dr. Jackson, are now recommended by some of the most prominent members of the faculty, as an article of much efficacy iu cases of female weekness. As such is the case, we would advise all mothers to obtain a bottle, and thus save themselves much sickness. Persons of debili tated constitutions will find these bitters advantageous to their health, as we know from experience the salutary effect they have upon weak systems."
