j authorities and Water Company, but which not
laving been signed, the present Burgess and
own -ouneil reter to a vote of the people, and
win govern themselves according to that decis
ion : °
AGRKKMLM made and concluded this 4th
day of March A 1). 1850, between the Lewis
town Water Company of the fi rst part, and the
Burgess and I own Council of the Borough of
Lewisto wu of the second part, witnessed that
the said Lewi-town Water Company agrees to
erect not less than eight, and not exceeding
twelve Lire I'lugs, in addition to these alieadv
erected, in such places m the Borough of Lew
i-town a- may he selected by the Burgess and
Town Council of the Borough of Lewi-town.
. The said fire plugs, as well as those already
erected, arc to he under the control and care of
the said Water Company, who are to keep the
same in good repair, except where the same may
be broken or injured in any way for the purpose
of getting water to extinguish tires, in which
j case all necessary repairs are to be made at the
expense ol -aid Borough of Lcwistown.
In consideration whereof the said Borough of
Lcw isto-.vn agrees to pay the said Lew islown
Water Company ai annual rent of three
for each lire plug by them erected in the Borough
of Lewi-town, as well as for all those already
erected as for those now agreed to he erected";
which said sum of three dollars is herebv agreed
upon by said parlies as the. water rent to be
charged and paid for the water used out of each
fire plug for the extinguishing of fires in said
borough, be the same more or less.
Witness the hand of the President of said
Lcwistown Water Company and the Seal of said
( ompany—Also the hand ol' the Chief Burgess
of said Borough and the Seal of said Borough,
the day and year aforesaid. This contract to
continue tor the term of ten years from the first
day of \pril, I*so—at which time a nerc con
trite! to be enteral iulo in regard to the said wa
ter rent.

Hail on Saturday, June 15, between the hours
