GaMP IGN SONG—
A in—" Weft for the Wagon."
Come, brothers, and unite with us.
Come, join us one and all,
United we must conquer,
But divided we ellen. fall ; -
Our Union Flag we're raising
For McClellan—tried and true,
Who'll uphold it—and revere it—
Ms the Red, White and Blue.
CHORUS—Then Hurrah fur MoClellan,
Hurrah for McClellan,
Hurrah for McClellan,
And the Red, White, and Blue
Our ship's the Constitution,
With oar leader at the helm,
We'll bring her into action.
And her feet' we'll overwhelm.
They'll find that we'll be "up and dressed"
Enough to put them through;
Let our watchword be McClellan
And the Red, White, and Blue;
Our flag shall be respected,
Nor trampled in the dust ;
The °A-WIRtittEAFEVAR
--- Thank God, we haven captain,
To his country ever true,
We'll stand by McClellan
And the Red, White, and Blue.
Come, them, all good and true mem,
And lei us all unite;
With such a gallant leader,
We are BUM to win the fight ;
To our country and the Union
Let each of ue be true,
We w 11l Belt for McClellan
And the Red, White, and Blue.
AN "OFF-NANO" JOKE.
A sturdy sergeant of one of the Massa
chusetts regiments being obliged to sub
mit to the amputation of his hand, the sur
geon offered to administer chlorofoim as
usual; but the veteran refused, saying
Idlf the cutting was to be done on him, he
wanted t , ) see it," and laying his arm on
Vie table, submitted to the operation with
out a sign of pain', except a firmer setting
of the teeth as the saw struck the marrow-
The operator as he finished looked at his
victim with admiration and remarked—
"You ought to have been a surgeon
my man."
"I was the next thing to one afore I
enlisted," said the hero.
"What was that" asked the doctor
"A butcher!" responded the sergean
with a grim smile, which, despite the sur
rounding's, communicated itself to the by
standers. •
Z A gentleman who, a few days ago

the following bit of lyrical poetry : .

"Can you tell me,
In the shortest style of writing, -
When people will

Of this big job offightingl
- Lee to Meade,
"I can, Indeed,
I'll tell you In a minute—
When legislators
And speculators
Are made to enter in it."
Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother.—
One of the stern laws enacted by the Pu

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious
son of sufficient years of understanding,

his mother, (hey being his natural parents,
lay hold on him and bring him before the
magistrates assembled in court, and testi.
fy unto them that their son is stubborn
and rebellious, and will not obey their
voice and chastisement, but lives in quo
dry, and notorious crimes ; such a son
shall be put to death,

raise on this land,'
Was, he raises hackmatack, grasshop

other wegetables. Yesterday he raised
a double breasted pigpen right under the
window, and mother raised Cain.'
