Mn. EDlTCM.—Accordingto the appointed time,
the Teacher's met on Tuesday evening
of last week, in the Acatleniy. It is a source of
much gratification M Use to know that there - are in
tour locality Teachers and other friends of Educa
tion, who take a - delight in- its proceedings;- and
whose hearts throb responsive to every movement
which has for its object the benefit of our common
Humanity. It should be attended by all wh f . tror
its general welfare. In some towns literary gen
tlemen (and ladies tool) are engaged in conduct,
ing these Associations, by coming up to the help
of truth in the great contest of error. If we but
persevere in our laudible effort, we will overt'
beneficial influence, and one that shall vibrato

county.
Scripture informs us that "in the multitude of
counsellors there is wisdom." With truth and
force may this proverb be applied to persons as
sembled for intellectual improvement. It is by
discussing our views with friends that they he
ems clear and disperse the mists of our minds, and
often baffle the thought and bumble the pride of
the most erudite scholar. Hero then is room to
,improve our mental faculties. Lebanon boasts of

generally showing , a falling off. The sales 'com
prise about 4500 bbls. in lots, at. $ 5 25 for stand
ard superfine, $5 75 a 0 for extra, the fernier for
good western, and $0 a 6 25 per bbl. extra family.
The home demand has also been moderkite within
the rangeof $5 . 25 a 6 for common to choice brands,
$5 75 a 6 for extra, and $6 a 7 50 and 8 per bbl
for extra . family end fancy lots. Rye flour is qui
et at $4 25 11'4 374. per LW, Corn meal has been
