The Chcrrytree Rtvord of the 'Jlst states that some excitement was created on Sunday last hy the arrival of a wagon containing two "manacled and doomed" horse thieves. The lirty consisted of C. Hindman, W.R. MeFlein ing, A. 8. Hindman andthetwohorscthievea, giving their names a Isaac Mclntire and Charley Johnson, They stopped at the Hen derson House for dinner. Seeing the pris oners chained together hand and foot, we made inquiry and learned the following par ticulars: On Wednesday night, Hcptemlter 7th. a valuable tram of horsea were stolen from the stable of Mr. A. M. Hindman, of near Corsica, Clarion comity, alsrat two milea from the Jefferson county line. The hoTses were immediately advertised, and a vigilant search w as kept up for eleven days and nights, when the owner gave up in despair and started for home. On going through Hrook ville he received a d input eh stating that his game was caged at Kbensburg. Taking hk father, Mr. C. Hindman, who had been deputised for the occasion, and Mr. Mi Fleming, Mr. Hindman started for Kk-nsburg for hk horses and the thieve. On arriving at Eliemhurg It was learned that the thieve had been arrested by Deputy Sheriff Klnkead on Monday night of. last week, he having had a description ofthe horses. On being arrested they made nn resistance and were locked up, a nix-barrelled revolver, a knife, a deck of cards, two Jewa- harpa, and some other minor article being found on their person. They denied their guilt at first, but afterwards acknowledged their crime and talked quite freely on the subject. They claimed to be from tho West, but seemed to have no fixed place of residence. Johnson, whose right name k thought to be Suit, wo born near Punasutawney, but went to Kansas with hk parents when small, and soya bk parent are Isith dead. Mclntire say hk mother k dead and that hk father was In Missouri when last heard from. The prisoners are neither of them over 21 year of age, and they rlaim that thk k their first offi nee, which k ptoliablj true They eemed in good spirits sad ate veary heartily. They elaim they only took the home to ride a white, but when day dawned and they aaw what a good team they had, they concluded it wonld ha a grand scheme to sell them and pocket the filthy lucre. They offered the horse too cheap and no one would buy, up poaing they had been stolen. Tha prisoners were taken to Clarion, where they will he tried and get a term In the pcnltentkry fiff their trouble.
