particular of a aad and horrible accident which
occurred in tbe edge of Armstrong eounty, near
tbe JelTanen oounty Una, on Monday of laat week.
William Neal, an eld man, aged perhaps eighty
year! Ilred with bla daughter and three or four
little grand ehildrea, near tbe little village of
Eddy? Ilia. Tbe eld man bad become ao decrepit
be could only get about with great difloalty, and

down be could not rise without aasiitanoe. On
the evening of tbe day mentioned hi daughter

get aome milk, leaving her father and her three
or four little children at tbe bouse. Soon after
her departure on of tbe little girla came Into the
house and told her grandfather the roof of the

mean to the garret, and wa followed by another
of tba little girls with a bucket of water. While
ia the garret be fell dowa and wa attar ly
unable to rite.- He told hi grand-daughter te

left him, aad with the other children went to the
barn, leaving the babe, n few months old, In tbe

missed bar in seme way, hut the mother aoon re
turned, having discovered the fire oa ber way.

wa for her falter, knowing his helpless eonditlon.
She sought him in every room in the building,
and then went to the garret, tbe door of which
wa olosed, and resisted all effort lo open IL Sb

She then removed hef babe, aad the aelghbera
began to gather la, whoa the children told where
their grandfather was. By thla time there waa no

tha body waa recovered It waa more than half
burned up. Tba greater portion of the eooUnls
