Wilker Brothers A Co., at this place, caught fire
and burned to tbe ground, destroying everything

the original intention of tbe Company to continue

mile from the present terminus, but very Utile
effort ia tbst direction was made until recently.
It Is sow proposed to ex rend the road lo the
mouth of Whttmor rua, a diataooe of IBi miles
from Lloyd's, and the el li acne along the route aro
manifesting coasiderabk interest in tbe matter
by holding publie meeting and rendering sub-
staatial encouragement to the project by subscrib
ing liberally. Two meetings were held this week,
at a couple of tbe promniont polnta, for tba pur
pose of oleotiag Trustees to uke charge of sub
scriptions, Ao., but we have sot learned tbe re
sult of their deliberations. . One of the questions
proposed to be brought op at these meeting waa
that of tbe time for beginning work oa tbe pro
posed eateoiion whether It be this Fall or next
Spring. We hpe that they have arrived al soma
definite conclusion, and that llc extension will he
begun and completed ia the near future, aa it will
opaa out an immense coal field la a region that
has not yet been worked. The village (Lloydi
ville), situated in White township, Cambria coun
ty, a little over 100 feet below the summit of the
Allegheny Mountains at that point, la eight and
three-tenth miles from Bell's Mill's, sine miles
from Altoona, seven mites from Jaoeaville, and
even mile from Fallen Timber. II eoo'alna
fifty home and sixty families, with a total pron
ation of 575 people. The drift lo tbe mines es
ters the mountain-side at the village. The faoo
of tbe mine I about half a mile from the entrance.
A drainage tunnel runs entirely through Ibe
ountalo, a distance of a little over one and a
half mile. About seventy-five or eighty miners
are at present working at these mines. They

day even its;, Sept, 28th opening each day al
11 o'clock A. M. and closing at II P. M.
Refreshment of all kinds will be served at all

law is very old, and Is said to antedate by many j

After hearing all the evidence tbe Arbitrators

Tho Clearfield Gas Company offers,
par. Coupon Bonds In denominations of $300
and t-jOO each, bearing interest at the rate of six
per ceotum per annum, payable semi-annually et
the Firat National Bank. The Company has
issued bond to tbe amount of $10,000, and $6,000
of this was taken but a few days ago. by one of
Ibe Clearfield bank, leaving $4,000 to be disposed
