dale Informs us that a miner, named James
Emlgh, working In tbe Sterling Colliery, was
k illrd os) Tuttsday morning, the 1st in$U, by fall
of ooal. A blast had been fired off the night pre
vious, by Emlgh and other workmen, but It failed
to bring down the ooal. He went to work at lion
Tuesday morning, and In a few minutes after, a
large mass of coal fell down upon him, killing
him Instantly. Ho was a tnsrrisd man, and leaves
a wife and two children to mourn his death.

ner, a vender of medicines from Columbia county,
was crossing tho mountains from Tyleraville to
Reherabnrg, be wss attached by three men who
came out of the woods, and robbed of $35. The

presented pistols and demanded "your money or
our life." They got bla money and let him go
without personal Injury,

Railroad was earning towards Look Haven, It ran
over a wan named Henry MeKissik, Just this side
of Flemlngton bridge, and killed him, the body
having been horribly mangled. Portions of it
strewed tbe track for eotne distance, and pieces
clung to tba engine, and were not discovered tiff
neit morning, when the engineer, Mr. Dlnges,
got tho first intimation that somebody bad beea
run over. Deceased leaves a wife and two chil

Thursday morning last dawned aalm and beau

told the anxious student that examination was in
order, and bade him respond promptly to its early

very well regulated borough. Very often the
