Clearfield waa unanimously agreed upon, and that

for the purpose.
The above point having been agreed upon, the
next business in order was tba selection of an
Orator of tb day. Tb name of several gentle
men wer suggested, but finally Thos. II. Murray
wss chosen. On motion, a Corn mi tie of three,
ooniting o Messrs. Wouden,of Woodward, Cook,
of New Washington, and Cleary, or Bloom, was
appointed by tb Chairman to wait upun Mr.
Murray, and Inform him of tbe action taken by
lb meeting. After an absenc of a few mo meal,
tbe Committee relumed aud reported tbat Mr.
Murray would endearor to perform tb duty as
signed him.
It waa also agreed trat Wdj. M. McOutlough,
Esq., Hon, John Patten, Lira. T. J. Buyer aad J. P.
lloyt, should be added to Ibe 111 of orator.

accordance with tbe proclamation of the President
of the I'nited State, and also of th Uovernor
of tbi Commonwealth, you ar reipertfutly

celebrating th oiiming Fourth ef July In a
manner fitting tb memories and proapeolsof such
ao occasion. In order tbat we may be enabled
thus to meet and enjoy' ibis day, so precious to
every American oitiaen, there has been an Execu
tive Committee appointed In each election district
in tbia eounty, whose duty It Is to make all the
necessary erranfteiacnte Id their reepeetlve bor
nugha and townships, appointing any sub-ootn-milteea
tbey may think proper, or substituting
any other In tbeir place, In caa of inability to
give It their attention, and anything le tbey can
do to facilitate a large harmonium and orderly
