(ion. firaiit has vanquished tho peo

he has set the army and navy in mo

henceforth in its naked deformity, an
unpardonable crimo against populur

A government which the people loathe
ami despise was forced upon Louisiana
by the soldiers of the President. Lell
to themselves for a moment, the people
threw it off and installed the olllcers
whom they had regularly chosen at
the K)lls. The dciMisod intruders made
no fight ; they were as neipioss nun

Two years tigu 'Jiiuit yielded to the

wicked deed has brought forth a full
crop of crime. Wo have seen him
dispersing a Legislature at the point
of tho bayonet, expelling a legitimate

by tho scandalous support of A per
