On motion, 6. II. Bbaffner was called upon to

very Interesting speech, selling forth tbe advan
tage of a market house In an agricultural com
munity. Mr. Bbaffner waa followed by Jackson
Conk I in, Joieph Owens, John A. Melt ride, M. f.
Wallace, and others.
At tbe eoneleioa of the spooahe, the Cumin li
mine appointed at tho meeting held In Mont
gomery sub-school district tbe previous week, re
ported that tbe Burgess and Town Council of
the borough of Clearfield bad been Interviewed
with reference to the erection of a market bouse;

leased for tho erection of a market bouse, and
that it was only aeeeesary for the recurrs te mem

Mrs. Moran then became alarmed and ran to t be

W . F. Sbugurt, who was lying on the sofa reading
to anolber roum, to come to bvr. He, not noticing

paragraph be was reading, when bis sister called ,
bim attain. He then hurried into the room where
Mr. Moran was and assisted tbo wife is getting
him to bed. where lie was sdied with a tpell vt
vomiting, after which he sunk intoa kind of stupor
(rum which be did not recover, and died about
four o'clock in tba afternoon. - Immediately after
he bad been put to bed, Mr. B. T. Kbugerl, Mrs.
Moran 's father, waa called out of church aod Dr.
Harris wilh him, but ibe stricken man had not
tho power left even to put owt his tongue at the
request of the Doctor. He never spoke after be
wae attacked, although be made a number of effort
to do so. . The physicians any that bis death was
caused by apoplexy, from the rupture of an artery
or arteries at tbe base of tbe brain.
Mr. Moran was born in July, 1831, and waa
eonseqaeally 43 years old last July. Me waa a
Jeweler by profesien, but bad done nothing at
that buflnca for many year. During tba gold
excitement in Calafornla, he waa In that country,
and witnessed aeny of tbo roughest scenes In
that region during that very rough period. His
stories ol the adventure and hardship in which
he participated during hi residence there were
very entertaining, and It ia probable that hi as,-
