Henry Bimlcr, an oVl French soldier of the revo
lution, who had served at Vorbtown under Lafay

Fatal AcciDKT.v-On tho 14th in
stent, as A. R. Peoples and Ueorge Bowman were
piling spars on tho bank of ClearOeld creek, at
the mouth of liuek run, the furmcr met his death
In the following manner t Ono end of tho spar
had been drawn on tho pile aod propped, aod
Bowman took the horses to the otbor end of the
spar to diaw it up, while Peoples was holding the
prop, which slipped, when the horses started and
the spar eame swinging back, striking Peoples on
tbe side of the head, knocking blm againit
tree and killing him instantly. An examination
developed the fatt that bis neck was broken, Ibe
left side of his head smarhed and tbe upper and
lower jaws broken. Ho was a son of N. B. Peo
ples, of Knox township, aged nearly 28 years, and
unmarried. Ho was ludustrlous, and highly
eaurctned by his neigbbori.
